Startling Confessions of Georges, a Repenting False Prophet
even satisfy a woman. Without your demons, you are useless in bed. Where will you go when American woman realizes you are sexually dejected?” she shouted.
“God prohibits insults and you love insults the much. You must have a demon in you,” Georges murmured.
“From whom have I been infested?” Aisha asked. “When you share the bed of a demon son, you can’t escape being possessed. You are wicked and wholly bad,” she added. “Without your demons fixing your gaps, you are nothing and you dare suggest I need deliverance. You are crooked and even your soul is twisted.”
Annoyed by the quarrels of my neighbors, I decided to call Georges’ pastor so that he could help them calm down. Many times before, such clash would tarry for hours before it settle down.
Pastor Brian was an old friend. After the call, he came immediately for we were in the same suburb. He made a stopover at my home to understand. After listening carefully, he asked me to accompany him into Georges’ dwelling. The moment we knocked at Georges’ door, the quarrel was still active.
Once inside my neighbors’ home, Aisha became quiet. Greetings went normally. They asked us to sit in armchairs in front of them. Pastor Brian asked first about the causes of the squabble. Aisha usurped speech and announced:
“The devil claims that he has repented and is now a saint! Ha! Haaaaaaa! My God! Some people know no shame,” she sneered.
Aisha jeered at Georges and held back to silence. Pastor Brian meanwhile seemed stunned.
“Please Aisha, check your words in the presence of the pastor;” I asked her.
“I beg for pardon; may God forgive me. This trial is too much,” she replied.
Pastor Brian who had recovered stared at Georges and asked:
“Is it true you have repented?”
“Yes pastor; since yesterday,” he answered, “and I have decided to cut off contact with the spirits, to stop healings and miracles. I have also decided to release the girls; Aisha doesn’t want to hear anything.”
“To release the girls? What does this mean? Are the six girls about whom you spoke of your concubines? Your sex-partners?” I asked, confused and disgusted.
“Wizard! Dirty thief! Demonic! He was born evil and he embodies evil! He has destroyed people lives and now he wants to repent! God Himself will drive you away from Paradise,” Aisha said contemptuously towards Georges.
“All that I ask you is to forgive me,” Georges said, directing his eyes on Pastor Brian. “Since the time God spoke to me, I am resisting the Holy Spirit. But I know if I were to delay, I could die at any time.”
“Because you have right to live?” Aisha asked. “What of all those you have killed by your witchcraft; didn’t they have right to live? You're tired of murdering and now you want to live,” Aisha said, irritated.
“God does not reject anyone,” I said. “God loves the sinner and Jesus came, only to save sinners. He is always ready to welcome every sinner who repents. Let it be wickedness, lie, theft, witchcraft, enchantment or murder; God forgives all sins. Jesus blood cleanses all repenting soul from all types of sins, tenderly and for free.”
Pastor Brian who had not spoken much since the beginning said:
“You don’t need to repent my dear. What have you done wrong? God loves you as you are and does not require any repentance from you. We are not saved by works, but by faith.”
“Pastor, what you say is not without truth.” Georges replied. “In fact yesterday, as I passed by the Omnisport Stadium, a pastor was preaching there. When I approached, he clearly preached about my adulteries. He said God loves me and wants me to change my lifestyle. His words touched me deeply and I must give up all lies. Aisha is not wrong to treat me as she does. I am not the healer that people believe I am. I'm sorry pastor,” he apologized.
“I realize that the devil has planned to attack my church,” the pastor replied. “Do you realize what people will say if you stand at the pulpit and debit all that nonsense?” Pastor Brian asked. “No. I say no. God doesn’t love corruption. This is not the will of God that you corrupt and destroy His church.”
“Yes but... in fact, all those miraculous healings were built upon the power of demons. This is what I have been trying to explain so far.” Georges replied.
“Demons can’t heal people in Jesus' name. Be a man and stop confusing yourself. We have a seminar next week and you need to focus,” Pastor Brian said.
“But… Pastor, you still don’t understand. I am interested no more. I'm afraid I would die if I continue to deceive people,” Georges said.
“You won’t die in the name of Jesus. Everything is Alright in the Mighty name of Jesus!” Pastor Brian proclaimed. “Who is this pastor who addressed God’s message to you?” he asked.
“Pastor Israel. I do not remember that he gave his last name... Poudiougo! This was Pastor Israel Poudiougo,” Georges replied.
“That man again!” Pastor Brian lowered his voice has he said this. He seemed dispirited.
“Two years ago, he was the one; today he is still after me. Why is that man hunting me every time? How is it that whenever my church starts growing, he’s always there to draw me back?” the pastor complained.
“Do you know Pastor Israel?” Georges asked. “It was my first time to meet him.”
“Leave the city. You must leave Bamako. Go where you want with your secrets. The new converts are too fragile and you risk drain the whole church by your confessions. I will find an explanation for your departure,” Pastor Brian said sternly.
“I'm sorry pastor. God loves holiness,” I observed. “God dwells in holiness and He seeks worshipers who walk in spirit and in truth. If you build your assembly on lies, what will you expect: Downfall. Remember that every plant that God has not planted in Church will be uprooted,” I contended.
“So you play Jesus now!” he sneered. “Mind your own business and battle with matters of your rank,” Pastor Brian warned. Turning to Georges, he continued warning:
“If you cling to your repenting, be wise enough to avoid coming to church. You have 48 hours to leave the country. Be aware that it is better for one person to die for the good of many. My report on the church growth is already done and cannot be changed.”
Once these words said, Pastor Brian got out and went away. Hesitantly, I did not know if I should accompany him to his car or not. We were all baffled by his attitude.
Faced with this turn of events, Aisha agreed to cooperate. However, she refused to give up the money Georges owed him. Former false prophet Georges William had a US visa still valid. He left Mali on Tuesday evening for the United States, with the commitment to work there and pay all that was due to Aisha. He was also willing to meet with Adriana parents before they sleep together.
Two months later, Pastor Brian also left Bamako hastily. The mission he was servant had been informed of his preference for the size of membership, for the amount of tithes, in defiance of a sound spiritual care of believers. He was informed that a team was on the way from Liberia to check out the facts.
Following the knowledge of the truth, the believers did not give up their faith as Pastor Brian had feared. They understood their need to always rely on Christ, not on man. They understood that God was at work to establish their foundations on the Truth. They understood that forgiveness is greater than hatred.
The Liberian Mission got a replacement who knew how to focus the attention of believers on the Master Jesus and not on men. His name: Reverend Gordon Kane. Until I left Mali in June 2015, he was still in office and was serving the local church with great care; as well as he was co-working with the other Christian missions operating in the country.
