He went to the neatly bed. He almost felt guilty as he pushed the decorative shams to the side and stripped off the comforter. The patterned beige sheet below easily came away, as did the bottom sheet that was not fitted in the corners. He grabbed it, rolling the wad around his left arm. Pausing at the picture again as he left, he wondered how long ago it had been taken. He wondered what had happened to the couple in the photo. He wondered if his apartment, with the same layout as this one, would be viewed with a similar inquisitive mind once he had come to pass and someone went to clear out his home.
