Just One Touch
Isaac had had an absolute fit when she’d hesitantly asked him whether he was turned off by the seemingly permanent changes in her body. He’d looked at her like she’d lost her damn mind and then proceeded to show—not tell—her precisely what he thought of every (in his words) delectable, delicious curve. He especially showed her newfound upgrade in cleavage his profound appreciation, and then tenderly gathered her in his arms and told her with utter sincerity that there was nothing that would ever make him stop loving her and worshipping her body every damn chance he got. That she was the most beautiful woman in his world, the only woman in his world. He’d been so sincere that his words had brought tears to her eyes, and then he’d kissed them away and made love to her all over again, showing her twice as much appreciation in the end.
She’d only managed to slide her—or rather his—shirt down her shoulders when he came barreling into the doorway of their bedroom, his heated gaze immediately finding her. She loved wearing nothing but one of his button-down shirts as it dwarfed her much smaller frame, and he loved her wearing nothing but his shirts, his hands finding their way up the inside of her leg a dozen times a day when she wore one, to see if she was wearing any underwear.
On the days she wasn’t? Well, suffice it to say, wherever they were when he made his discovery was where he impatiently made love to her, barely managing to get his pants unzipped before he was on her and inside her so deep that she felt him against her womb.
He stalked purposefully over to her, his eyes glittering with desire that hadn’t waned even a little in the year they’d been married. If anything, their passion grew crazier, needier and more desperate by the day.
“God, please tell me you aren’t wearing any underwear under my shirt,” he said in a growl.
“I might be,” she teased. “Or I might not. I believe it’ll be up to you to find out,” she said, knowing that if he investigated and found her bare, his favorite way for her to be, she’d get the rough loving she craved when he was intensely and painfully aroused.
He closed his eyes and swore, surprising her because that wasn’t his typical response in a situation like this. He pressed his mouth to hers in a hungry kiss. “Stay right here. Don’t move,” he said, before slipping into the bathroom.
He returned holding something in his fist and he stopped in front of her, his expression suddenly serious. Then he opened his palm and she looked down to see a pregnancy test resting there. She glanced back up, staring at him in obvious confusion.
“I think you should take this, baby,” he said gently.
“What?” she asked, her confusion only growing.
“Surely you didn’t think I was teasing you about keeping you knocked up so much that you’d never even think of ever leaving me,” he said, looking down at her with a smug grin on his face.
“But Isaac, I’m not pregnant! I’m still breastfeeding, for Pete’s sake, and Evie is only three months old! I know you want to have a lot of children, but even you have to give nature time to take its course.”
He leaned in and nipped her bottom lip. “Babe, I know your body better than mine and I can count. You had one period after you had Evie, and while I am aware that not all women have periods until they stop breastfeeding and that breastfeeding is sometimes an act of birth control itself, as I said, I know your body, honey. I know it very, very intimately,” he said, his voice dropping to a husky whisper. “Go take the test. For me? I need to know because you looking like you do right now and looking at me the way you were when you told me you had plans for me? I’m as hard as a fucking stone and if you’re pregnant then I need to be more careful with you, especially since you haven’t fully recovered from having Evie.”
Jenna’s mouth dropped open as she stared silently up at her husband. “Is this a joke? Are you playing a prank on me for our anniversary? Do you really think I’m pregnant? And why would you know but I wouldn’t? Do you know how insane that sounds for the husband to know before the wife does?”
“Not when it comes to you, angel,” he whispered against her mouth as he took it again. “I know every inch of your beautiful body and I paid attention to every single detail of it when you were pregnant with our little Angel. Your smell is even different and your taste. Oh God,” he groaned. “You haven’t noticed the fact that I’ve been going down on you for the past few weeks like a man being given his last meal before his execution?”
Jenna flushed to the roots of her hair, her cheeks so hot she was sure she had to be bright red. He patted her gently on the ass and coaxed her toward the bathroom.
“Do it for my peace of mind before I fuck you so hard that you’re going to feel me for an entire week,” he pleaded. “For my anniversary present, I either get to fuck you hard and long every possible chance I get—and trust me, babe, I’ll make those chances happen—or you’re going to once again make me the happiest man in the world by telling me you’re going to have my baby again.”
Then he lowered his mouth to whisper in her ear. “I know I said I wanted lots of boys first, but I wouldn’t trade our little angel for anything in the world, and I have to admit, I’m kind of hoping for another one just like her.”
“Oh God, you are serious,” Jenna said, flabbergasted. Then she shook her head even as she headed in the direction of the master bathroom. “You’d better be glad I’m so on board with all these babies you’ve promised me, and that I want as many as you can give me, or you’d be in a world of trouble right about now.”
He pulled her into his arms when they were inside the bathroom and then he unwrapped the test and placed it reverently in her hand.
“You have to know that if at any time you ever changed your mind and wanted to stop, even at the one—or, well, the two it’s possible we already have—I would never love you or our girls any less. I only want you to be happy, my love. And I’ll spend the rest of my life busting my ass to make you happy every damn day.”
“Well, let’s see how happy you make me today,” she said, a soft glow lighting up her face as she stared at the early pregnancy test in her hand.
Exactly five minutes later, with Jenna standing at the counter with Isaac’s arms fully wrapped around her, his hands resting on her belly, their eyes met in the mirror.
“Time to look down,” he whispered, almost as if afraid of ruining the moment.
“Let’s look together,” she whispered back. “On three.”
After the count of three they both looked eagerly down at the test, and Jenna’s vision became watery with tears as she saw the clear, undeniable evidence that once again she was pregnant.
Isaac swung her around to face him, and she was shocked to see the glimmer of tears in his own eyes. “You have no idea how happy you’ve made me, angel girl. And you have no idea how much I’m going to love you for the rest of our lives.”
“Happy anniversary, darling,” Jenna said, “though I will say, this wasn’t the present I had planned for you.”
His expression became calculating. “Oh yes, I know exactly what my present was going to be, and I plan to collect on it right now.”
With that he swung her up into his arms and carried her to bed, laying her down before blanketing her with his body as he began to make slow, sweet love to the absolute love of his life.
