Poems From The Heart of Wayne Hoss
Being without you is pure torture
So until the day that I can be with you
Always remember that my love is true!
The Message
When you were with me I walked with pride
Though I missed you when you went fishing
Now in death I know that you’re by my side
Yet tears still flow as I sit here wishing
I shouldn’t be sad that you left the human race
But it hurts me so that you have deceased
I know you have gone to that special place
Odd as it may seem, I feel our loves increased
For I realize now that I knew not what I had
Sometimes I forgot to say the words
Knowing I rarely told you makes me sad
So I'll send the words "I Love You" with the birds
With my message they will fly high
Bringing you the words I often forgot
When you see them coming in the sky
Always remember that I love you a lot!
The Beast
Life can be confusing to say the least
Every hour of the day we fight an invisible beast
He puts evil suggestions in our mind
He tells us to be mean, when we should be kind
He tells us to lie when we should confess
He does all that he can to make our lives a mess
He makes us do things that we normally would not do
He railroads us on that train that leads to a human zoo
He controls our lives with that sneaky inner voice
He tells us to steal candy, or perhaps a Rolls Royce
He puts anger in our hearts, when we should be calm
He puts a knife in our words, sometimes in our palm
He has come to kill, steal and destroy
It is his evil wrath we must avoid
He is trying to steal our reservations up above
And put anger in the place of love
Satan is truly the devious beast from hell
Throwing away souls in a bottomless well
So go to Jesus, avoid Satan’s strife
Then you may drink from the fountain of life
Rebuke Satan, hells masterly beast
Who dwells in our minds, our life is his feast
Ignore Satan’s little voice and judge with your heart
Trust in the Lord and someday in heaven you may take part
Satan’s Web
We have all been there at one time or another
Wishing we could turn back time as we exclaim "Oh brother!"
Guess you could say that’s something we all have in common
Though the act that got us there can be different; doing drugs, lying, or tommin’
If we were a beautiful butterfly I’ll tell you what
We would not fly intentionally into a black widows web, but…
We would avoid it at any cost, go the extra mile
Only then would we come out of life with a smile
We would say with an ear to ear grin
Man I am tired, but I would do it again
You see; nobody jumps intentionally in harms way
But if we are not careful we could get caught off guard one day
Once again I must try to express
The butterfly would avoid that web, to maintain life and happiness
Well, you've got the picture by now I am sure
So I pose this question "Why do we jump so quick at Satan’s lure?"
We have all been there, that is all but Jesus Christ
Whether we stole a candy bar or pulled off a million dollar heist
Perhaps it was cheating on our spouse
Or a simple lie that entangled us in that web at Satan’s house
Now we've all got the picture, scenario if you will
So imagine yourself a butterfly floating down a hill
You are looking all around and praising the earth’s beauty
Then you look up just in time to see a web and man its heavy duty!
This strong heavy duty web connects from a tree
Down to the grass, once in it you can’t break free
There is just enough time to make it around
So I ask, "Would you avoid it, or fly in it and be bound?"
If you said 'Avoid it, fly quickly away!"
Then that was definitely the right thing to say
Of course you said avoid it, that's common sense!
So imagine one last scenario and let’s end the suspense
Imagine if you will that you’re that cute butterfly
Your entire body stuck to that web, can’t even fly
Your little heart pounding due to the thought
That a spider paralyzes and devours those that are caught
Now imagine that you look around as the web begins to shake
You see that huge black widow coming, your life at stake
Imagine the fear as she finally approaches and begins to attack
You watch her suck the life out of you, no turning back
Well, Satan has his own deceitful web of impending doom
So avoid that sin that will bring despair and gloom
When approached by Satan’s web of temptation, just do one thing
Replay that last scenario in your mind, and remember the hell it'll certainly bring!
Conscious Mind
Fear not a conscience that brings forth guilt
For upon that conscience is salvation built
Guilt is merely acknowledgment of a life of sin
Guilt brings out the monster hiding within
Put not this guilt, or its pain aside
Confront and acknowledge those sins that do hide
For guilt brings repentance and a life anew
Confessing those sins will open a door for you
To ignore this guilt would be a mistake
So confront that guilt for heaven's sake
If your pride makes you put it away
It will be back to haunt you another day
All men sin and fall short of the glory of God
But woe unto him that gives guilt not even a nod
Go up to an alter and pour out your heart
Give God that guilt and in heaven take part
Invisible Tents
Life's mysteries painfully unfold
As a dark mist enters polluting the mold
A person is molded by life’s events
To hide the hurt some build invisible tents
Those tents are not as strong as some people’s brick walls
While brick would hold, the tent simply falls
A soft heart is unable to hold such amounts of brick
So it uses a cloth tent to hide a heart sick
The tent is weak but the heart is great
But when the tent falls the heart does break
Time heals all wounds, or so they say
Eventually replacing weak cloth with clay
After the heart has been broke several times
And held together with false hope lines
It finally caves in, unable to carry the weight
Now even weaker is the heart once great
That damaged heart now pumps less life
As the mind finally gives in to all of life’s strife
Carrying on is indeed a war within itself
As they stack more pain on a weakened shelf
Many see that tent and shelf as weak
Yet it held even more than the brick at its peak
It is true that a soft heart is penetrated more easily
And the heartless brick continues on painlessly
It always seems as though the brick wins by being cold
But little did they know that the cloth tent was woven with pure gold
So in the end when the Lord does call
They will find the invisible
tent won after all

Hot Dance - Fear Hell!
Listen people to the cries in the street
Souls emerged in fire from head to feet
Listen people to the screams from hell
You had better listen and listen well
Listen to the cries that last eternally
Soul's burning in hell painfully
Listen to the screams as they burn in pain
Their souls being tortured by a hot flame
They gave in to Satan again and again
But look where they wound up in the end
Keep in mind that this is your only chance
So live by the word, or do "The Hot Dance"
The road to heaven is a one way street
So follow it or get blistered feet
Fear hell or expect impending doom
For the Day of Judgment is coming soon!
Wake Up!
If you think that you'll find the answers in the bottom of a glass
Perhaps you should reminisce deeper in the past
Remember the nights that you never came home
You were out partying while your family sat alone
Remember all of those good jobs that you eventually lost
Think of all that money that you eventually lost
Think of all those people that you called a friend
Yet, when you needed them they were gone in the end!
When you needed them they were not there
But your family was because they care
You caused those whom love you, worry and pain
As often they and wondered who was insane
Most of all think of your kid
Who always loved you no matter what you did
For it was also him that you did neglect
Wake up now before your life is wrecked!
God I am Not!
I make a living turning those wrenches
As customers impatiently wait on benches
Cars backed up as far as I can see
Another pull's in yelling "What about me"?
I work on everything from cars to Jeep's
It takes a lot of time to fix these heaps
Again I answer the phone in a sweat
To hear them ask "Is it done yet?"
If you want miracles look toward heaven
This ain’t no stop and go or seven eleven
Big Gorilla next to me, his name is Reese
Said he couldn’t see me through all this grease
They rush me to finish it by tonight
But it takes time to do a job right
It may take longer, and cost a little more
But it will last long, and you won’t be sore
So remember when you pull into this lot
A mechanic I am, God I am not!
Together at Last!
Finally, at last, we are bound as one
But it's not over; no it's only just begun
For we will be together eternally
Me helping you, and you helping me
Because we'll have to work together
And ride out the good and stormy weather
Life will not always be easy I know
But as we work together, our Love will grow
As we walk together hand in hand
We will make our retirement in God's holy land
But until that day, we'll need to be strong
So we'll walk the roads together, short or long
A Falling Leaf
Laying under an Oak tree one sunny day
A falling Leaf caught my eye as it floated away
It floated solemnly through the sky as if to imitate a feather
Only you can guess the season by this one, and perhaps even the weather
For we all know that the leafs begin to fly away at the first of fall
So that a new leaf may begin to sprout in spring, this I recall
So by that leaf much can be learned by the watchful eye
We know for instance as it floats to the ground it is its time to die
Nature’s cycle nears its end for this little guy afloat
So that he may decay and nurture life, so I've seen it wrote
We know that he began as a lively and radiant autumn leaf
And that he danced in the wind, and played in the rain so brief
Now his time has ended, yet he is still a part of natures plan
For as he fertilizes the grass, he is reincarnated somewhere throughout the land
Perhaps now he has become a spry blade of grass or even a flower
Perhaps a small insect or even a tree that may tower
No matter what lesson you learn from that falling leaf
You are sure to remember that life is really brief
So dance in the wind and play in the rain
Enjoy this life while you can, your destiny lies on that plain
P.S. We all become fertilizer in the end!
Working Hard
I rise out of bed as the alarm goes off
Pull up my pants with a tug and a cough
Buckle my belt with a pull and a tug
Go in to the kitchen and fill my coffee mug
Arrive at work in time to punch the clock
Killing myself as I work at this dock
I work so hard for so very little
Make even less than a hobo with a fiddle
Sometimes they praise me for working so hard
I prefer they raise me, not with a card!
When I ask for a raise, he must be thinking of poker
Because he replies "I called!" Man what a Joker!
I just can’t make it, so a second job I seek
Not enough money to make it through the week!
Wish I had the Money to register my car
If they impound it I'll have to walk so far!
Must be nice to own a home, and a Boat
With these bill's I barely stay afloat
Wouldn’t want to be rich when the Lord comes
Cause I'd burn in hell and twiddle my thumbs
So remember this, you with all that money
Spread the wealth, because burning in hell wont be funny!
Stress
Going through a Life full of stress
Sometimes wanting to pull out my hair
Come Home from work to a mess
Doesn’t anyone around here even care?
President's speeches give us hope
Yet broken promises are all we receive
Pusher's on our street's selling dope
Making a brighter future impossible to believe
Government assistance quickly goes up
Cost of living steadily gets higher
No more table scraps for the pup
Our politics leave a lot to desire
All of these bills and endless phone calls
I'm finding it harder to make ends meet
No money left over to spend in malls
Working two jobs, man I am beat!
I work so very hard for that one percent r />
So that they can have two or three houses
Leaving us ninety-nine unable to pay rent
Man they are greedy, wicked, louses
Maybe someday they will pay us more
If not the well is bound to run dry
Then they won't have money to spend at the store
Either way, they will answer to the man in the sky!
Gangs
You want to be cool and join a gang
You’re jumped in by many, life ends in a bang
Once you’re in, there is no getting out
So you'd better think twice before going that route
You are part of a family, this is true
But when you want out they'll come after you
A little confrontation over two different colors
Turns into the death of one of your brothers
Caught in the crossfire was one of God's Nuns
Killed by the rage of illegal guns
Children with guns do a drive by
A family in tears left wondering why
They drive around aimlessly many of nights
Looking for a thrill and getting into fights
One commits robberies, another one mugs
All this pain and suffering for the comfort of drugs
The home girls party with the home boys
The party interrupted by a bang of a noise
Suddenly a shot, then all kinds of cops
Another brother down as the party stops
They meet at a standoff with guns and knives
Adding to the injuries and loss of lives
The life style is anything but nice
So again I say "You'd better think twice!"
The Confused Poet
I live a life of such confusion
Sitting here and wondering why
Life is nothing but an illusion
Just a dream, no matter how hard I try
I dream of peace and a world of love
I dream of caring and a place of friendship
I truly believe that what I dream of
Is in heaven, for earth brings merely hardship
I care not of money and wealth
Nor of the simplest life hath task
