experiments prohibited by ethical and moral sense.
Sophie remained thoughtful, and meditating on the subject, then looked at watch and decided end the meeting.
- I think we're all tired, and we will close for now.
This final outcome of this meeting would be tremendously bad for Ubi, but nobody knew about it for now. This is because, the fact that the Internet was a source of dangerous ideas, and there was no control over that, demanded to be answered by those who thought be the guardian shield, so to placate fears and generate a sense of security. As the phenomenon of freedom is very difficult to be fought, the solution would be the ancient practice of human societies of the atonement of a public example, someone should be burned at the stake.
Ubi was gone, walking slowly, he was sad and depressed, and tired. He knew he'd go straight home only look at screens. It was very strange, but he did not need to go to the hospital room where Hugh was recovering. The best for this room was being closed and free of any germs, so it was best to not contain the presence of another person than the patient. This doctor patient relationship was a relationship that is increasingly at virtual level. The doctor Ubi knew it, and was content with that. But the father Ubi had a great desire to go to that room and look with his own eyes to his son, to touch him and feel him. See with your own eyes and touch, human emotional needs, little attended, in a world more and more virtual.
“... I wonder if it's possible to turn my dreams into virtual images. Can I dream and my dreams to be scanned? Why is it possible to remember the images of a dream, just as we remember the images of what we actually live? Yes, sometimes certain images of dreams are so strong, so alive, having that faded color as all remembrance have all time. Do the dreams pass into memory, just like the images captured by the senses in the real world? ...”

Ubi was sleeping on the couch he had just taken off his shoes. Just like someone who falls asleep without being prepared to go to sleep, someone whose sleep wins, and someone who does not want to sleep. His eyes closed fidgeted revealed by rapid movements under the eyelids, dreams. His senses perceived the latent sound that echoed through the whole room. The subconscious tried to warn him until the conscious returned to active. So Ubi understood what was happening, jumped from the couch, stood up. He chewed the saliva to get off a bad taste in mouth. He was going to get close to the big screen. With a gesture he stopped the sound alert. He was standing there in front of the big screen looking to the eyes of Hugh, in other words the new eyes of Hugh. Always be strange nominate him for his body, after all that is not the body of Hugh, it's a new body. Hugh's eyes were open, they were fixed and were sometimes squinted, and sometimes crossed, but Ubi admired these eyes were moving. Ubi accessed some controls and cameras showed other angles of Hugh. There was also movement in the fingers, looked more like spasms, but still movements. The arms were trying to move but were stuck in bed. There were also signs of spasms in the legs, which were also firmly stuck in bed for cable ties.
Ubi did other commands and confused images of the brain of Hugh appeared on screen, full of colors and turning in three dimensions. The euphoria was designed in the face of Ubi. It was undeniable. Still Ubi took care to check and compare numbers, just to confirm the obvious. Hugh had awakened. Hugh's brain was working. There were still many areas where the standard colors indicate malfunction, but in general the brain was fine.
Ubi not sleep for a while, he spent the rest of the night following each image of those screens. When morning came, Ubi did not stand and fell asleep in the chair. The sound of the bell woke him up, he was a pain in the neck by falling asleep in awkward position. He looked at a screen that showed a young woman pressing the bell. Ubi did not have to think to recognize Anne, he made a gesture and the door opened. Ubi went to the kitchen table where he prepared something to eat. Anne smiled at him.
- You are horrible. - She said.
Ubi agreed with a nod and a grin. He sat in the chair and put the dish on the table.
- Do you want? - Ubi asked to Anne, while he motioned for her to sit down.
Anne sat in front of him and looked at the plate from which he took a spoonful and put in his mouth.
- What is it? - Asked Anne surprised.
- Nutrients.
- It's exactly what it seems - Anne said smiling. Milk with bran.
Ubi pointed to the fridge and said:
- If you want more accurate information. See the screen on the left, has a lot of chemicals properly balanced.
- It definitely does not look like food, must be remedy. – Anne finished.
Ubi continued to eat that porridge.
- Yesterday I asked a friend to help me with the Internet and followed your meeting on CHUG - Anne said resuming the conversation. That was pretty hard huh? You are having a bad time. There's so much bad energy.
Ubi had finished his meal.
- You are right Anne but it seems that not everything is bad news. Come, I want to show something to you.
Ubi exuded joy and took Anne to the room and with commands made several images of Hugh appears on screen. Anne started to look at those images and took his hand toward the mouth, starting to gnaw the nail of the index finger. Anne was visibly puzzled with those images. She looked absorbed into the image of the new face of Hugh. She wondered that image as much as trying to recognize it, but it was a futile effort, nothing that Hugh had once been drawn in the brain of Anne matched to face that appeared on the screen, nothing at all.
Anne turned their eyes to a small screen on a table. She approached this screen. The three-dimensional representation of Hugh brain whirled in contrasting colors. Anne looked at this image, and averted his eyes off the small screen, as if she was thinking deeply. A nervous smile was gradually drawing in the thoughtful face of the young girl.
- Is he able to feel? - Asked Anne, facing the small screen on the table and back to Ubi. - What is he feeling?
- We never know - said Ubi - as yet no machine can tell us that, but the good news is that Hugh is aware. Yes, technically we can say that he is alive. He's alive!
“... and he is alive. And life begins...”
//Lab3/languages/AI/advanced/
Anne could not help but notice the hint of bitterness in the last sentence of Ubi, technically say that someone is alive, will never be enough, but in compensation, the claim that Hugh was alive, somehow alive, was a great joy for Anne. She then turned to the big screen from the wall, looked again at the new face of Hugh.
- So, what will happen to him now?
- I'm not sure - Ubi said upset. I have to go to the next step, and wait, wait...
- Could I see him, I say, see for myself? Would it be possible?
- Sorry Anne, but it is very difficult to happen. I have instructions to prevent personal visits to Hugh without the express permission of the Hospital and the CHUG. Even so, I will place your order. I will say that you are his bride, this might help, and at least your order will be filed. If one day they grant requests they will have to give to you too. It's the best I can do.
Anne smiled. The two also talked a little more, to know each other better. Then Anne left.
Ubi started to fabricate the "next step" of the recovery plan for Hugh.
Ubi and many other experts were stunned with the adaptability of the Hugh's brain in the new body. It seemed that the brain know what to do by itself. Although genetic drugs had been given a big boost, the good result of the transplant until now, must be more than the effect of such drugs. This phenomenon was intriguing all the transplant specialists, and somewhat frustrating opponents of those who wished the transplant had disastrous effects to use as ammunition. Yes, Hugh's brain seemed to want to live in other body. The nerve branches that had been sectioned for transplantation, were hooking up with the nerve endings of the new body like a miracle, was a bewildering phenomenon. Is this a feature of the human brain, or just a happy event with Hugh's brain?
“... we have to investigat
e further this strange thing about this transplant to be going so well. There must be some error with the simulations, they never envisioned such a positive result. I want information, I want to experiment, I want answers now...”

“... phenomenon is crystallizing. Messiah of a new era. Monster of all our current fears. Whatever it is, he woke up. Hugh awoke...”
//Today-Now/cover/
“... awesome, I read that he woke up. I find it odd that I feel indifferent. I guess I should have a more sensitive reaction, but no. I read the words, I see the images, and... well... I feel I should have a reaction, a more effective reaction, a reaction more action, a "do something". I look at this screen with the message that Hugh awoke, and my face does not shine. Should have... yes, I should have... I do not know. What is awakening? What is the awakening of this being? Such that Hugh! What is this? An apathetic is always awake, and what does it matter? Yeah, who cares? Beings awaken within dreams. And beings fall asleep in deep unconsciousness in reality. I do not know what to do with the information from these screens, all of these screens. It should... yes, I should... beings are apathetic... in front of screens all over the Internet, around the world... we... awakening...”
