In the Beginning
Once upon a time there was a kind lady called Mrs Tall Small. She lived in Fizzy Wizzy land with pixies and fairies for neighbours. She had a daughter called Lilly and a best friend called Fairy Flutter.
When she was born, the good fairy Octavia gave Mrs Tall Small magic powers to make herself as tall or small as she wanted to be. Mrs Tall Small is able to make herself as small as an ant or as big as the tallest giant.
Mrs Tall Small was always good to her friends and spent her time rescuing them and the residents of Fizzy Wizzy land from evil Witch Green. Evil Witch Green lived in a castle in Zenobia. She had her own personal army called the Fang Frogs.
A long time ago the Fang Frogs had been good creatures, until one day Witch Green stumbled upon them playing in their murky pond, a place which they loved very much. She decided to make them her minions by sprinkling them with green dust.
The Day of the Crystal Raindrops
Chapter 1
Crystal Raindrops Falling
Crystal rain drops had been falling all morning in Fizzy Wizzy land and Mrs Tall Small was wondering if they were ever going to stop. She wanted to go for a walk and visit her good friend Fairy Flutter. She had not seen Fairy Flutter for several days and she was worried about her.
Mrs Tall Small had finished all her chores. She had fed Rupert her pet giraffe. She checked the leaves on her eucalyptus tree to make sure there were enough for him to eat. Sometimes the elves picked the leaves and hid them. This had upset Rupert quite a lot and so Mrs Tall Small had decided to pay a group of pixies 10 bora bora sweets every week until Mrs Tall Small and Fairy Flutter had created the perfect spell to protect the tree’s leaves.
Fairy Flutter was the most amazing of fairies, but sometimes her spells went just a little bit wrong. As soon as the crystal raindrops had finished Mrs Tall Small was going to take a walk to Fairy Flutter’s cottage.
Fairy Flutter lived at Perfectly Pink Cottage which could be found underneath a toadstool on the other side of Primrose Wood. Of course, unless you knew the exact spot where she lived it was almost impossible to find. Mrs Tall Small however, knew the route to Fairy Flutter’s cottage off by heart.
Please dear readers, if I tell you the magic route to Perfectly Pink Cottage, do you promise to keep it a secret? Yes? You promise? You really do? Great, well listen carefully.
You enter the north side of Primrose Wood by the talking stream. Yes, the stream really does talk. Follow the path along the stream until you reach the Willow Tree. Now turn 46˚degrees to the left and say the magic words, “Fairy Dust and Pixie Sparkle”. Sprinkle some fairy dust and the magic bridge will draw down before you.
Cross the bridge, but be careful of the elves that love to play on it. Turn right at the 4th sunflower (they are everlasting sunflowers and so are always there). Skip down the daisy patch, turn left at the fields of purple strawberries and there ahead of you is the most beautiful toadstool that you have ever seen. At the bottom of the toadstool lies Perfectly Pink Cottage.
When she arrived at the entrance to Fairy Flutter’s home Mrs Tall Small shrunk herself in order that she could get through Fairy Flutter’s tiny door.
Fairy Flutter was crying when Mrs Tall Small found her. Mrs Tall Small knew that she had arrived not a moment too soon.
“Why are you crying Fairy Flutter? Whatever has happened?” Mrs Tall Small asked her friend.
“Oh, it’s my little purple cat Violette. She has gone missing and this morning I found a horrid note waiting for me at the entrance of my toadstool.” Fairy Flutter sobbed.
Mrs Tall Small clapped her hands three times and beautiful pink glistening tissues appeared by magic. Fairy Flutter took them, smiled for a second and then dried her tears.
“Show me the note please Fairy Flutter,” Mrs Tall Small asked.
On grizzly, scrunched up paper, which looked as if it was about to self destruct at any moment, Mrs Tall Small read the following, “If you wish to see your little cat again you mush bring 1,000 pearls to the magical ravine at the bottom of the mountains of Zenobia .”
There can only be one person behind this thought Mrs Tall Small. It must be Wicked Witch Green, aided by her army of Fang Frogs. No doubt the money was to raise funds for one of her battles against the foreign lands.
Mrs Tall Small gently calmed Fairy Flutter down and as her tears began to stop, Mrs Tall Small revealed her plans as to how she thought they would deal with this terrible situation.
“We will take my magic flying machine and fly to the Coroboro mountains. From there we will fill a bag with magic pebbles that will appear to be the 1,000 pearls. Once Violette is back safely with us, we can set our spell so that the magic pebbles will turn into mice!”
Mrs Tall Small was not quite sure how her plan would work out, but like all good heroines and heros before her, she knew that she would not let bad overcome them.
Mrs Tall Small quickly wrote a message on a scroll. These were no ordinary scrolls, as with most things in Fizzy Wizzy land they has special powers. The scroll’s powers allowed them to immediately transport themselves to the person they were being sent to. Of course sometimes they went a little bit wrong, and had been known to arrive with fireworks, or explode into thousands of twinkling stars, but most of the time they arrived safely.
Chapter 2
Zenobia Awaits
Captain Cornelius Bing was polishing Mrs Tall Small’s flying machine when the scroll arrived. He read it right away and immediately prepared the flying machine and flew it to Perfectly Pink Cottage.
The magic aviator took off, with Mrs Tall Small and Fairy Flutter safely strapped in. Captain Cornelius Bing was in charge of the flying machine and Minim, Mrs Tall Small’s dog and trusted friend, stood by his side.
Fizzy Wizzy land’s residents looked up and waved to Mrs Tall Small and her friends as they passed overhead. Within an hour they could hear the sound of animals that lived near the magical ravine. Flying monkeys flew by teasing Minim with their chattering voices and at the same time throwing twigs from the overhead trees at him.
Suddenly before them they saw the jungle which surrounded the Coroboro mountains. Captain Cornelius explained that it would no longer be safe to fly and from this point they would need to land the machine in the ravine and sail it to the base of the mountains of Zenobia, where they were supposed to leave the 1,000 pe
arls.
Mrs Tall Small was certain that some of Witch Green’s spies were watching them as they sailed along the ravine. A mist appeared from nowhere and an eery silence fell upon them. They had reached the the base of the Zenobia mountains.
Mrs Tall Small handed Minim the bag which contained the magic pebbles. Minim jumped from the edge of the boat and raced to the base of the mountain. He was scared, but he was going to help rescue Violette.
He dropped the bag and as soon as he did so, it vanished in a puff of green smoke. Mrs Tall Small knew this was most definitely the work of Wicked Witch Green.
A tiny meow was heard. Everyone looked. Up above them on a mountain ridge was Violette! Fairy Flutter was overjoyed! She had her little cat back! Violette jumped down and landed on the flying machine’s sailing mast. She scurried down to her friends.
“Quick!” exclaimed Mrs Tall Small, “We have no time to loose. We must get out of here and back to Fizzy Wizzy land safely”.
Chapter 3
A Few Cakes and a Scream
They had arrived back to Fairy Flutter’s cottage unharmed. Violette enjoyed a huge saucer of milk and Minim was busy enjoying extra dog treats.
Fairy Flutter, Captain Cornelius and Mrs Tall Small were enjoying their glasses of Fairy Flutter’s sparkle juice and cakes, when they heard a loud scream echo through Fizzy Wizzy land. Fairy Flutter’s cottage shook slightly and some petals fell off some of the flowers in her garden.
It was Evil Witch Green, at home in her castle. The magic pebbles, that looked like 1,000 pearls had transformed into mice. Of course, as with everything in Fizzy Wizzy Land, these were no ordinary mice. They could fly!
They flew around Witch Green’s head, pulling at her hair before they escaped back to their homes.
“When will Evil Witch Green learn?” said Mrs Tall Small. “Being spiteful to people, just does not pay!”
“But we must be careful Mrs Tall Small, I don’t think we’ve seen the end of evil Witch Green yet!” muttered Captain Cornelius.

‘Mrs Tall Small Rescues Father Christmas’
Almost Christmas
It was a happy time in Fizzy Wizzy Land. Only one day to go until Christmas Eve and everyone was very excited.
The children could not wait for Father Christmas who would be arriving very soon. Snow had been falling for several days and the town square was covered in a blanket of snow which glimmered in the sunshine. From the trees icicles glistened and Fizzy Wizzy land seemed more magical than ever before.
Mrs Tall Small was busy in her cottage wrapping the last of her Christmas gifts. She had thought very hard about her presents. She had invented a magic cloth for the Miss Muddles. It would help to do most of their housework for them which would leave them free to battle in the crusades.
For Fairy Flutter, Mrs Tall Small had found a very old book on magical spells which she thought would be of great help to Fairy Flutter with her magic. Fairy Flutter’s spells could occasionally go wrong!
Mrs Tall Small had spent most of her evenings since the summer knitting a red and yellow striped scarf for Rupert, her pet giraffe. She thought he would look very handsome in it.
For her dear friend Captain Cornelius Bing, Mrs Tall Small had found a magical compass. Her good old friend had been finding it difficult to navigate when he had been on his last adventure and Mrs Tall Small was certain that Evil Witch Green had cast a spell on his compass. Therefore Mrs Tall Small had decided that it would be an ideal time for him to change it for a new one.
Mrs Tall Small was happy. She had solved most of her Christmas shopping dilemmas. The only last thing Mrs Tall Small needed was some ribbon to wrap her presents up with.
She put on her sparkling new cape and went outside and jumped into her fairy carriage. The snow was falling heavily and it was becoming very deep. It would be easier to fly into town, instead of driving the carriage on the roads.
As the carriage flew up into the air, Mrs Tall Small could see how magnificent Fizzy Wizzy Land looked. It really was such a wonderful Christmas. As she made her way over the enchanted forest, she noticed what looked like a reindeer and two elves standing beside a carriage. There was something wrong, Mrs Tall Small was certain. She decided to lower her carriage down to see.
