Greg Farrar is from Seattle, Washington. His parents gave him his first camera when he was ten years old. He learned to use a darkroom in high school and took school yearbook photos. Then he went to the University of Washington, received a degree in communications, and started working for newspapers. About the same time he met Peg Kehret and began taking pictures of shelter dogs and cats for her monthly newspaper article about animals who needed new homes.
Greg now works for the Issaquah Press, a large weekly newspaper that is one hundred years old. He takes photographs for stories about current events, schools, sports, and interesting people.
Greg and his wife, Judi, live in Mountlake Terrace, Washington. They have three dogs and two cats, all adopted from animal shelters.
