Character Bios of Plume Serpent Rises Book One
Quan-Actually- Quetzalcoatl-Former Aztec ruler deposed by his two brothers. He vowed to come back and regain his throne in 500 years. Meanwhile he has a long range plan that will help him regain his throne and other lands as well. He now travels the world to gain knowledge of all the cultures of the world. Plus military stratagems from all the countries plus all of their dialects and customs, etc.
He has the Pi-Ries map (A map accurately drawn of the world ages before it was done correctly) in his possession. He some magical abilities. Quan doesn't always want to display them. He and his two brothers; Tezcatlipoca (Smoking Mirror), Huitzilopochtli, (Deity of war, sun, and human sacrifice).
These brothers set themselves up as Aztec Gods. They're the last three survivors from an ancient civilization destroyed long before the last ice age.
Some of their technology managed to survive the disaster that destroyed the world they knew. They guard what they have left of it zealously.
They'd even kill anyone who tries to possess certain items that belong to them. Quan's greatest asset is the Plume Serpent medallion he uses to perform miraculous feats no other ordinary human can do.
So the first book deals with Quan helping Temujin establish his empire, Plus all events that lead to Quan's eventual return to Mejico hundreds of years later. His goal is to stop Cortez from destroying his homelands and get rid of the barbaric habit the Aztec's have of sacrificing humans to useless idols. But he will have to overcome his two brothers that still are sharing power within the Aztec Empire. Not an easy feat.

Temujin- (known as Genghis Khan later) - Supreme Leader of all (Mongols as they now are unified) and are ready to begin their rampage across the known world. Quan asserts himself onto Temujin as his most trusted aide and will help him establish his empire. The ancestors of Temujin will eventually rule even China but that doesn't happen until his grandson Kublai Khan sets up his own dynasty in the Middle Kingdom much later.
Then the second phase of Plume Serpent's master plan is launched. Quan meets Marco Polo and his family and he befriends them He uses them to his as pawns for his long range plan.
