Andia.
“Can something like that be possible,” the Doctor asked shaking his head in disagreement. The very lady simply folded her hands onto her chest and did some three coughing all summing up to disagreement to Andia statement.
“We shouldn’t waste time in arguing…’’
“As expected!” affirmed the young man
“Recently I have been able to capture some few human souls, “said Andia, “we may have some chat with them.” Andia pressed a button on the machine and the machine gave some few booting noise and again he pressed buttons on both visual and audio systems plus other buttons whose significance were only known to him.
“The last person I saved was Dr. Leku,” said Andia and clicked several directories till the name Dr. Leku Norbert appeared on the VDU. Everyone was quiet.
“Good evening doctor? Andia asked.
“Good evening Andia! So they are here?’’ the voice came out of the Audio system. On the VDU appeared the exact Dr. Leku. He seemed to have been awakened from some deep sleep.
“Holy God, how comes!” the young man cried out
“I prefer you first talk to Doctor as I get for myself some more coffee.
“Yes, Charles, how are you?” greeted the voice out of the Audio output system: for our case we shall keep on referring to this voice as Dr. Leku Norbert, “I kindly need the help of the two of you”
“Oh God, Mr. Software what is it that you want?’’ the very lady interposed sarcastically.
“I am not a computer application as you deem it,” reposted Dr. Leku while looking in the Doctor’s direction. “Not having body doesn’t qualify me to be inanimate. I still have the same thoughts though I must confess a little bit amplified.”
“As expected!” affirmed the young-man, “I fancy it that you tell us who and why you were murdered. Am sure you had my votes for these coming elections!!”
“Well, shame suffuses me when someone tells me that I was murdered, for I don’t and neither did I feel anything close to dying. I cannot say that I felt being murdered as most of you try to propose including brother Andia...”
“That means death is a simple illusion of our consciousness. Am sure that is a good news to all of us here!” out cried the young-man as he looked in the direction of the very lady who in disagreement moved her shoulders.
“Well, said Jack! By God, I felt no death only some whimsical changes in my consciousness. Friends there are many things perhaps I chance I should tell you. But better I told you my own tale; what I went through when you thought I died
“You very well know that I was one of those who disputed the claim for existence of Human soul. Yes, many times we have been led astray to conclusions simply because we don’t understand some phenomena and discard them as conjectures...
“But sir you haven’t answered my question” complained the young-man
“Well, to your wish, the very time those three gangsters who happened to be here also...”
“You mean Mr. Andia also captured them?” the very lady wanted to know.
“I prefer the word ‘soul’ be substituted in for ‘them’ as that’s what defines our existence “retorted Leku. “So when those gangsters pointed their guns at me, in defense I hurriedly drew my hand gun and gave them some shots that led them stumbling to the ground. But heck, in the incidence I realized that I had been shot two bullets one in my chest then the other in my belly. Some terrible pain followed in few seconds or microseconds. Then all was gone, the pains subsided quickly and after a few seconds I felt normal with no blood stain in my body. Oh and I was necked but I never felt embarrassed over it. Then standing around me were my assassins. And they all looked like me, naked and stormed in wonder. Brain called out on me. “What has happened?”
““hahaha, hahaha, hahaha” laughed Mukasa
“At first the three of us thought he had lost sense but then we noted he was laughing because of funny changes he was going. At the moment we felt congested in the space. That took a split of a micro... And I saw a new dimension that I had not witnessed that if anyone had told me of it just as I am telling you, I would suggest some psychiatric tests.
“We could see ourselves in four dimensions and oh God we looked like what you best describe as heavy objects floating in a vast space. The dimensions didn’t stop here. In fact we reached up to eight observable dimensions before we felt some strong magnetic field on us. But one event that repeated itself whenever we were about to shift from one dimension to higher one was congestion. We could all feel congested in space.
“Am back!’ a voice came from the door. Looking in that direction, the three beheld Andia.
“You took few seconds to gulp down all that hot tea” jokingly said the young man
“Am used to hot things!” replied Andia displaying that white teeth.
“Well hope Dr. Leku has told you...”
“Not all!” answered the Youngman.
“I haven’t told them. I was just about but then I had to first tell them of my experience,” said Dr. Leku Norbert.
“What’s it that you want him to tell us?” the very lady wanted to know.
“Here he tells you” answered Andia.
‘Immediately!” interjected the young man.
“well, friends I had called you here because I desperately need your help,” said Dr. Leku Norbert, “Andia had told me that there is a possibility of putting me back to my body if I could get one” no one interjected this time.
“I understand Jane is our best chemist and Dr. Charles, you are a good anatomist. I strongly belief with help of our genius Andia you can synthesize for me a body so that I can dig hell out of the person who was behind my assassination”
“I am sorry Dr. Leku,” said the very lady, “nothing like manufacturing humans has ever happened in the history of humans apart from those from science fiction movies. All you are requesting us to do are impossibles done by Gods not humans…”
“Well, I just needed you on some few cases though very important ones. my tests for the suitable body for him is almost complete,” interposed Andia, “I made a body already, but one thing has blown my wits off: how to make the body immortal because it seem to regenerate itself that death would be impossible to our Dr. Leku”
THE END OF THE SOUL CAPACITOR by Abbott Walking Carbonic
MY SWEET-HEART Anna
My names are Dickie Dictoy. Most of you thank mother universe for the air, water, and space and time she has offered you – yes you have always irrigated her with gramercy – I do curse her, she separated me from Anna, permanently authenticating our divorce. Still my mind goes back, retrieving even the simplest iota of the tragedy -- it feels as if the whole lot transpired this daylight!
It was evening; the vesperian sun appeared grayish from north. On Zarkah the Sun sets to North and does the rising from south. That should not disquiet you: daughters of Earth are akin to the primordial Zarkahans. Before civilization took one-eighty turn, our ancestors – my ancestors thought the sun was god, just as recently, the sons of Earth thought Moon betokens charity, before Armstrong stepped a foot on the lunar granites. Anna and I were chattering, treading along the hills of Aba which lay out in the East of Akron, a city where we had leased an apartment for three years. Anna was a lecturer of Zarkahics at University of Akron, a discipline comparable to your Earth-science though groovier than the latter as in addition it involves the exhaustive study of cosmos. I was a chemical engineer; I worked for Akron Energetics: our task was more of harnessing the intra-atomic energy the state of life you, daughters of the Earth have not yet attained. Hands warmly clasped we went on, on and on, Anna beaming, exposing those green, perfectly given Zarkahian teeth that always made me fond of her, the two of us envisaging clearer tomorrow. We talked about the would-be surnames of our daughter and son. I recall Anna had proposed Zillah and Kazua respectively! I cannot recall exactly what I had suggested, but, all in all, we felt married.
When we were about to round out our evening wa
lk, Anna requested that she cleans my nose. I simply simpered and there, she thrashed her hands into my pocket -- and that is when I was last aware of being on Zarkah. I was stroke by a severe thunder. Holy God, my head clangored and ached. Night came and days passed, I could feel my head elongating -- all my body parts were drawn out kilometers and hundreds of them, thousands of these, trillions of billions and thousands of these. I felt the molecules of my blood detached, atoms of my consciousness being proscribed, drifting towards the edges of space. I felt my mind dispersed like myriad stars in dark-night, all scattered about. But how long did all these take?
Then slowly smidgens of my consciousness started to get back; I could feel my atoms drawing together. I diminished. At last I could feel my skin, my hair, my legs were unchanged– but where was I? It was not still the green soils of Zarkah; Anna was not standing there. You will have to pardon me for not telling you that on Zarkah we perceive the lot as green, apart from a few cases that happen at the equatorial regions of the planet. This is due to the density of Zarkahian atmosphere which sets a limit to other light colors, allowing through it mostly green light. Yes I was not lying on the green soil but something reddish! More importantly I was surrounded by hues: I beheld, green trees, and the grass on which I lay. Some animals where black, grey roan. People putting on different colors and turning to my own skin it was not still green but something
