  A Dedication

I would like to dedicate this book to my family and friends. All of whom taught me many lessons and always showed me that standing still does not defy weakness and that daydreaming is no waste of time, so long as you take the necessary steps in time. Because things take time, and that is okay. Your life is defined by what you are willing to do to reach your dreams, no matter how impossible it may seem or what any person says against you.

This is not a sole dedication, but a vast one. To my mother, my father, my sisters and brother who passed in 2007. To my extended family and friends who were always there for me when I needed a hand to break me from a bad moment in time. And of course to you. Not just for taking your time to read my work, but for doing what I ask from all I encounter- giving a chance.

  Thank you.

  For Your Memory

Time and time again she breaks deep down and then cries for you

It’s like her world is shaded in pain now that you’re gone

It’s too hard to accept the absence of your essence and

She can’t help but to think back to the times you were beside her

Back to the days you embraced her with your smiles and laughter

Deep down she grows more and more afraid she’ll soon forget you

Even more afraid once your memories are gone she’ll fall through

Her mind drowns in sorrow and she can’t help but to blame herself

If it were only a dream she would grasp you in her arms and never let go

Truth of the matter is you’re in heaven and

Her dreams no longer shine like those nights before your death

She awakens in tears and her heart bleeds more that she can’t catch her breath

You were everything to her and by the hands of sin you were taken away

Day after day through the following years she wishes for one last day

There are moments she recalls your foolish ways and a smile breaks

Countless photographs take the floor and the memories flourish

It’s never truly goodbye she tells herself and

She closes her eyes and whispers your name through the gentle wind

Through the fluorescent sun behind clouds she knows you’re watching over the bend

She knows each day forth will bring her closer to you but she must stay strong

Strong for your memory and her remaining three to prove life before death is an endless song

  I Believe

“Sometimes we search for someone to love and accept us, but what we fail to

realize is that we must learn to love and accept each other…

  or the world will fall…”

Through every tear and every scar, every step that leads to where we are

Through every loss and every fear, be thankful you’re still here

Because this world is war on war and we’ve forgotten who we are

Instead of us all living as one we’re separated by the hate

Suffocating by the power of this governmental state

We were all promised equality but we’re beat down individually

Yeah, we’ve forgotten who we are and lost our humanity

  Where is the humanity?

Our young ones lost in the reign of fire and into the imperial

Children beat down from their dreams, can you believe that this is real?

We were all once united by our blood, at least that’s what I believe

Now we’re united by this pain, but most of all I believe

It takes one stone to ripple chance in the great river of dreams

A voice to make a change and be true to Martin Luther’s dream

Because hope still lives within the innocent we conceive

Just close your eyes and listen as they whisper “I believe…”

Through every path and every word, the strength that moves us forward

Through every speech and every heart, there’s still a chance to start

Because this world is war on war till you remember who you are

Instead of us igniting these flames which discriminate

Don’t let your heart and soul fill with the pride of those irate

We were all promised equality but we’re beat down individually

We’re forgetting who we are and losing our humanity

  Where is the humanity?

There’s a way to make this end and become united hand in hand

But we have to believe, live our dreams and make a stand

Cause we’re only stronger then our flaws when our true being unfolds

When we look within ourselves and dare to cross the road

It takes a stone to ripple chance in the great river of dreams

A voice to make a change and be true to Martin Luther’s Dream

Because hope still lives within the innocent we conceive

Just close your eyes and listen as they whisper “I believe…”

There was a Time (Long Ago)

There was a time long ago when we were inseparable

A time so long ago when the whole world was amicable

No one would stand in our way; nothing would ruin the day

But sadly nothing in life remains unchanged

We were chased away by their vicious rage

And now we're fading deep within the shadows

No longer lingering upon our hopes of tomorrow

There was a time long ago when our love was embraced

A time so long ago when laughter couldn't be replaced

Night skies would hold our dreams; there were no fearful screams

But sadly nothing in life remains unchanged

We were chased away by their vicious rage

And now we're fading deep within the shadows

No longer lingering upon our hopes of tomorrow

There was a time long ago where the light would always shine

A time so long ago when it was a blessing to call you mine

No one could force us to hide; nothing they said could break us inside

But sadly nothing in life remains unchanged

We were chased away by their vicious rage

And now we're fading deep within the shadows

No longer lingering upon our hopes of tomorrow

  Feelings

This will only take a moment cos my truth has not been spoke
n

Through my fear and inner shame I drew myself from being open

Lost focus of my life and kept to silence never showing

These traces in my mind, my heart and soul which can't be broken

This is my tragedy to a story still unwritten

A shadow in my heart which echoes through every dream I'm dreaming

At times I feel I’m fading with every single step that’s taken

So I stand before a mirror and face the demon I’ve been facing

Myself and the possession of every secret kept within

I’m tired of running, breaking and most of all the hiding

  Moments (Rise)

We all have our moments where we’re sitting, reminiscing

To the times before we felt this, to the days you were here with us

Beyond control we do feel hopeless, where this pain’s beyond a nuisance

But the truth is you’re here with us and these moments won’t end with us

  Because our legacy’s eternal

And we will rise when our time is to come

We will rise and be together

Oh, We will rise when our times is to come

We will rise and be together as one

  Stronger Than They Say

If you’ve found yourself afraid and you thought it best to run

If you’ve found the world untamed and you’re kept from all the fun

I hope these words comfort you and you see all your dreams through

I hope these words comfort you and your wishes all come true

Because you’re stronger than they say and your courage grows each day

And every breath you take, every step you make is everything but a so-called mistake

Yeah, every fear you face, every life embraced is nothing less than a scar replaced

  Because you’re
