  Chapter 7

“The first thing we thing we need to do is determine exactly what the two of you already know about all of this.”

“I am afraid that I don’t know all that much at all about any of this, I know that there are four types of fey and that there is a chance that I will be one of the only six of my kind left alive.”

“Right so we go back to the very basics of it all. Originally there were 6 species of fey, over the centuries the numbers of each have fallen until now only four survive. Each subspecies possess powerful abilities unique to them. I don’t know if the two of you will ever be able to fully use your powers as there are very few left that understand what it takes to master them we will of course do our best to help you develop your abilities, it will be easier of we were to explain all of this later individually.”

“What happened to the other two subspecies?” I asked my voice barely more than a whisper.

“It is not known for shore what caused the two them to die out,” Jasmine replied cutting Sylvia of.

“Most believe that they simply whipped themselves out by interbreeding with the other fey.” Lily finished for her sister.

“It is also possible that they were killed off,” James’s voice was shaking as he spoke; “I have heard whispers that just before the war started they refused to help the other fey and were slaughtered.”

“That is enough,” Sylvia yelled trying to regain everyone attention, “it is really of no concern to matters as they stand now what happened to the other fey.”

“No disrespect to you Sylvia,” I was shaking all over as I spoke but I knew that I had to say something, “but I have to disagree, what happened to the other fey might just be significant to what is about to unfold in front of us.

“I really don’t see how the loss of subspecies of fey years ago can be of any importance.”

“It all depends on how they were lost, if they simply interbreed then you are right it is of little importance to us now but if they were killed out by the other fey or if there was some other reason for their disappearances like a virus or something then it could be very important and since we don’t know what caused it finding out should be a high priority.”

“Opal is right,” James said and I gave his hand a gentle squeeze in thanks.

“I don’t remember exactly what is written in what I left with farther but I think there was something in there about the disappearance of the fey,” Sylvia’s eyes filled with anger at her husband’s words obviously she had expected him to just agree with her. “Did he ever mention anything about it to any of you?”

“Only that he couldn’t understand why it was included,” Rose responded, “he said something about them being betrayed by one who was part their own kind, but didn’t know what it had to do with anything.”

“Who was it that betrayed them?” I asked even though I was sure I already knew the answer.

“I believe he said that it was the same fey who betrayed the vampires just before the war.” Rose replied not looking at me, “The legend says that they found out what was being planned and refused to go along with it and attempted to stop it from happening. When leader found out she had been betrayed she ordered that every last one of them be killed.”

“If we are to believe the legend that you speak of,” Sylvia snapped, “it has no bearing on the situation as it stands now, she died along with most of the others.”

“It is true yes that she is dead, however she did have two children and it is not known whether or not they are still alive. These two could be a threat to everything we are fighting for,” My heart sank as Lily spoke, and I started to feel really sick.

I couldn’t believe that I could be a threat to the people who I considered my friends. I wanted to tell them that there was no way I would ever be a threat by I knew that if I did I would be landing Jasmine in serious trouble, instead I turned and addressed Sylvia, “I don’t want to be rude but it has been a long few days a lot has happened and I need some time to process the information.”

“Of course we will make arrangements for you to stay for now familiarise yourselves with everything I will find you when everything is ready. James, your farther and I will need you to come with us you can return to entertaining our guest later.” Sylvia said and the tree of them left.

“I think I might go and have a look around,” Tabatha said giving me, “Not all of us are lucky enough to have cute boys wait on us.”

I couldn’t help but smile as she walked away; at least she wasn’t still upset with me. I jumped when Lily gently placed her hand on my shoulder. “I am sorry for what I said before but we need them to believe that you are just another fey.”

“That is why you weren’t meant to know the truth about your family,” Rose added “If the other vampires knew who you were, your life would be in even graver danger then it is now.”

“Could I really be a threat?” I was shaking with fear, there was know why I would ever want to be a threat to these people.

“There is none of your mother in you nor was there in your brother, hopefully the same will go for his child.” Jasmines hand rose to rest on her stomach as she spoke.

“There is very little chance that his child would inherit any of its grandmother’s traits, though I don’t see any reason why he would have a child, unless Jasmine, are you pregnant?”

“Yes, I found out this morning I was on my way to tell you when you found me and we were attacked.”

No one spoke for a while after that we were all lost in our own thoughts. I couldn’t believe it I was going to be an auntie my brother would live on through his child. Tears flowed from my eyes as I thought about what a great farther my brother would have been. Then a thought hit me.

“What would happen if all the remaining fey chose to be with vampires rather than their own kind?”

“Eventually the fey would be breed out of existence.”

“Well I have been thinking about that actually mum and yes there would be no true fey but their powers would still exist within their children, I would save the race but it would prevent this from ever happening again.”

Lily giggled “Maybe your baby could be the first of a new species a leader.”

“That is all well and good to joke about things like that but there are way too many vampires out there that would rather see the fey dead.”

“That may be true but not all of the fey would have to do it even if just one more was born to parents of both races the feys powers would live on.”

“You just might be right,” Rose said with a smile pulling the tree of us into a hug, “My three girls could be the ones to end the feud for ever.”

In that moment for the first time in a while I felt like I truly belonged.
