“We can get him back,” Sarah suggested, eagerly trying to remedy her position.
“No, that one’s irrelevant,” Sebastian said. “Without his Quartet he’s useless. Move onto your next mission.”
“But-“
Sebastian quickly turned and slapped her across the face. He grabbed her by the jaw and pulled her close. “The Order is fighting a war they’re losing,” he hissed. “Do as you’re told, and maybe you won’t end up like Surage.”
Sarah pulled herself up straighter and tried to nod, “Yes, sir.”
“Good,” Sebastian cooed, letting go of his grip. “Now go.”
He watched Sarah walk up the stairs and out of sight, and only when he heard the doors close did he turn back to the observatory window.
“Now it’s just you and me,” he whispered.
He smiled as he watched Alicia lying motionless on the observation room floor.
