  Chapter Eight

Nine got a text on his watch. New mission.

Your mission, Agent Nine, is to assassinate the president of Earth. Andrew Bolt, believed to be highly connected to criminal activities. He plans to push the galaxy under communist rule led by criminals.

Nine shut his watch off and prepared to assassinate the president of Earth. He called Natalie for more information.

  "Hello?" Natalie replied.

"Hey Nat. So where will the president be tonight?" he asked.

"Gambling with strangers in a casino house here in Washington DC." Natalie replied. "You will have a clear shot, a great chance to assassinate him."

"How do you know this stuff?" Nine asked.

"I gave him the address." she replied and sent Nine the address as well. "I also put a chip on him, so he'll be easier to find."

Nine ended their transmission and flew his ship to the said address. He parked at a dark alley behind the bath house building and pocketed gadgets and weapons in his suit. He jumped out of the ship and took out a pen.

The pen produced a claw with a rope. Nine pushed a button that launched the claw up the four story building and caught the edge of the roof. Nine pulled on it, making sure it was safe and secured, then started to climb up the wall. He looked through a few windows, that made him wish he hadn't. This was definitely a mafia club.

When Nine got to the roof, he ran to the other side of the building while ducking, trying to maintain his stealthiest. He took out a tea spoon from his pocket and rubbed his thumb on it. The spoon began to glow and a tiny screen appeared at the bowl of the spoon. It showed Nine where the president would be by reading the chip that Natalie placed in the president's pocket.

Spotting the president on the fourth floor near the corner of the building, Nine ran to that side of the building and placed a claw with a rope at the edge of the roof. He then abseiled down to the first window and looked through it. There he spotted the president counting money by himself.

Nine took out his gun and screwed the silencer on to its barrel. He then carefully cut a circle in the window, without making any sound, and poked through the window with the silencer. He fired two shots and watched the president fall down on the floor. Nine climbed up to the roof and ran to the side of the building. He then rappelled down to his ship and took off in the dark without being seen.

Nine decided to see if Mandy was still at her loft. He couldn't get her out from his thoughts and wanted to check up on her. He felt responsible for what was about to happen to her, and he wanted to save her. As he approached her building he noticed a couple of other dark looking ships surrounding it. Either the criminals were after her or she was holding a meeting. Nine left his ship hovering on neutral and rappelled down to her building's roof.

He then walked to the edge, and since she was on the top floor, he just jumped onto her balcony and ducked away from the windows. He then had a peek inside. There he saw Mandy sitting on a couch having a drink with six different criminals. They all appeared to be having a peaceful conversation. Mandy wore a blue business suit by Ann Taylor.

Two of the criminals were Kyle and Vince. The third was Quadruple D. The fourth appeared to be a man wearing a toga outfit. The fifth and six wore shorts and polo shirts. They all appeared to be comfortable and at ease. Nine felt a little uncomfortable as he didn't expect to spy on Mandy. He couldn't understand his need to. He thought she was in danger but she appeared to be fine.

As Nine got to his feet he noticed that Quadruple D held a gun in his hand and he pointed it at Mandy. So did the other guys, including her ex-husband and his partner. Nine took out a tennis ball from his right pocket and threw it through the window. Smoke filled her loft up and everyone coughed and a few guys passed out. Nine snuck inside, grabbed Mandy and ran out onto the balcony carrying her. He pushed a few buttons on his watch and his ship dropped a rope for him to grab hold of. He then tied it around his wrist and the ship flew away from the building into safety. Nine climbed up the rope into the belly of the ship and threw Mandy inside. He then closed the door and ran to start up the ship in gear and turn on its camouflage. He then quickly sent a message to Strawberry telling her the president was dead when Mandy came to. Nine ran up to her side.

  "Where am I?" Mandy asked.

"That's alright, you're safe." Nine replied.

"Tatum?" Mandy reached to kiss him.

"Mandy." Tatum leaned to her and they kissed. He then helped her stand up.

"You saved me." she said. "Thank you."

  "I'm sorry." he replied.

"Don't be sorry. I'm happy I'm still alive."

"I mean about your files." he corrected himself.

"I'm the one who lied to you." she reminded him. "At least now all you have left is to get a new president to fund your organization."

"We are going private." Nine told her. "We no longer rely on the government for funds. Plus the new president will start taxing those involved in criminal activities."

"Is there anything they can't tax?" Mandy asked.

"We can't risk another corrupted politician." Nine explained. "Upon the seizure of all criminal documents, every dangerous crime lord is after you. Why did you take on the role as the head of the monster? You are now the most wanted criminal on Earth, and here you are on my ship."

"You can make billions just by selling me out." Mandy smiled at him, then frowned.

"I will do no such thing." Nine reassured her of her safety. "I can't believe every criminal out there believed your plan." Nine laughed.

"They didn't." she replied. "I bought them all out using their own money. Peter paying Paul sort of thing."

  "They bought that?" Nine asked.

"These guys aren't too bright. I kind of figured that out when my ex-husband took me to meet with them. Most of these criminals couldn't even spell drug. One of them spelled it with a number six." she laughed. "Due to my reputation I was able to fool them. I did it for you." she looked at Nine. "I risked it all."

"What about Mittens?" Nine asked her. "Where is she?"

"With a sitter." Mandy smiled and appreciated his concern. "I like how you care for her."

"Oh Mandy, what are we going to do?" Nine asked her.

"Well, I still got the money hidden on planet Anna Kendrick. We can always set up an organization there." she suggested.

"You're saying, you will fund us?" Nine asked.

"Yes, I will be your CEO as we discussed initially."

"We must give the criminals their business back. I will protect you Mandy." Nine hugged her and reached for the original documents that still lay on the dashboard of his ship. "I will fly and visit every place and hand them over their business licenses back." he was determined to save Mandy and get his organization back to normal with a clean slate.

"I'll come with you." Mandy replied.
