Justice League Unlimited prove that it can be done and done well.

A major reason that I have respect for comic book art and graphic novels is due to my late father, who exposed me to the likes of Alex Raymond and Will Eisner early on in my life, and my sister Stephanie, who was kind enough to design and draw the cover art for this book. My sister's artwork has been showcased in collections such as Jesus Hates Zombies: Those Slack Jaw Blues, Only in Whispers and Tails of Sparky.

She also had her own web comics, The Original Nutty Funsters and The Magic of Wonder, for some time until teaming up with writer Greg Carter to work on their online graphic novel action series, Perfect Agent(the lead character happens to have my name, which is sheer coincidence, I swear). Stephanie's dedication to her art and to striving to reach the next level in her career makes me proud, as it would, no doubt, our dad.

A special thanks to my mother, for being supportive of both her daughters in their artistic endeavors. She's an excellent poet in her own right and my ultimate role model in life. Some of Marge's attitude is inspired by her but my mom would also be the first one to stand up to her as well.

I plan to create a Facebook page for this book, which will be linked at my blog Living Read Girl-livingreadgirl.blogspot.com-where I talk about books, film, television and other pop culture points of interest. If you would like to see more of my sister Stephanie's work, you can check Perfect Agent on Thursdays for a new installment or her own web site at these locations:

If you liked this story, please spread the good word about it and I will greatly appreciate it. My true goal is to someday publish the novel that I completed some time ago(and currently working on the sequel to)that also has superhero/villain themes with a strong leading lady and a few bits of witty dialogue tossed into the whole mix.

Superheroes are not all that I write about but when it comes to this genre and literature, I think that women have a lot to contribute to this field and that wider pastures should be open to them . Marge and the girl in black are not featured in those works but, who knows, one or both of them might show up. If you're interested in another story or book about them, do let me know. Thank you and hope to see you all in the funny pages some time soon.
