It only gets Hotter That Hell With Alex Gomez’s story in SIZZLE Now Available!

  Dear Reader,

I have a lot to cover so I’ll dig right in. Acetaminophen (Tylenol ™) can kill if the exact dosage isn’t followed closely. Most common in these deaths are mixing Acetaminophen with cold medicine and pain killers. They may all contain Acetaminophen. Please take with caution and know every ingredient of all medicines you are taking. I have detective horror stories which I won’t go into. Knowledge is our friend.

Sancho is a common name around the Hispanic community where I worked as an officer. It was the stand-in for the lover of a married woman. Sancha was used for the lover of a married man. I learned something new each day I patrolled the streets. Hasta que nos encontramos de Nuevo “Until we meet again.” This translation is for Sally and everyone else who didn’t know what Moon said to Mak the first time they parted.

The Wendell Police Precinct is a figment of my imagination. Sunnyslope is not. It’s a small section of Phoenix known for its eclectic people. Take what you want from my use of the word “eclectic”.

The Arizona Humane Society is located in the heart of Sunnyslope off 13th Avenue and Hatcher. I knew it well because for many years, my daughter worked the late-night shift. She was genius at catheter placement for fluids and known as Doctor Amanda. She worked alone except for the occasional emergency crews who brought her animals in crisis. She did everything she could to keep them alive until a vet came on duty in the morning. If she couldn’t save them, she ended their suffering. She felt each death deeply. Don’t tell anyone but she also called me to foster animals who were on the short list. Mostly bottle-baby kittens. She also owns a team of her own rescues—five-toed cats, 3-legged dogs, and blind dogs. You don’t work that job without a heart of gold and endless love for four-legged friends. I am one proud mom.

I was lucky enough to own two desert tortoises. Mine were pure vegetarians. A friend of mine owned Big and Big loved Big Mac’s. Come on, some stories must be told.

I lost my first DUI because of the “vomit in the mouth” defense. Still burns to this day. It also made me a better officer.

A very wise female officer told me the answer to “one of the guys” statements. I never thought like a man or acted like one. A wise sergeant told me this was a good thing because blue needs diversity. I am a woman and damned proud of it. I was “one of the cops” and I’m damn proud of that too.

I saw my first beheading video at the police academy. It was done by a Mexican drug cartel and stayed with me for a long time. Kennedy did not have a change of heart when he told Mak to close her eyes. He treated her like a female because he was an arrogant SOB. Sorry if I led you in that direction. I had an idiot cop tell me to look away from something once. Not only was it ridiculous but dangerous as well. He never made that mistake again.

Hugs to my editing team: Michelle (made me change the first chapter around and it’s a much better book because of it. I won’t mention the other edits that shined. Pat, your fine eye always amazes me. Sally, you’re my fiercest critic and this book won you over. *happy dance* Kathie, thank you for the finishing touches. You ladies fine-tuned this story and I love it.

More hugs to my Wicked Readers Street Team. I don’t know where I would be without you.

To my readers… thank you for continually supporting my work. I’m one of the luckiest author’s alive. Alex Gomez’s book is now available (SIZZLE). I can’t wait for you to read his story. BURN is also available. You meet this character in SIZZLE. October 4, 2016 brings a spinoff novella, STREET JUSTICE, which features a hot, badass cop who’s a great guy. The connection to the first books will leave you wanting book V, IGNITE (coming soon).

  Peace, love, & hope
