Introduction
This book is a digital version of a book that I wrote, entitled the “Daily Quote Journal.” The journal gives the reader a quote each day for a year. Each day the reader is encouraged to not only read the quote, but write down what it means to him or her. The reader is also instructed to use the quote throughout the day, and to share it with others.
I am a firm believer in what you focus on you find. If you are focusing on how you hate your job, the horrible relationship you are in, or worrying about other things that are beyond your control, you are destine for destruction. How do you think you will interact with your co-workers if you go to work with a negative attitude? How do you feel that you will interact with your significant other e.g. lover, family, and or friends, if you are operating from a negative space? The answer to those questions are obvious.
That brings us back to what you focus on you find. That doesn’t mean that you should pretend that the world has no bad things in it. It just means you need to change the way you approach the obstacles that you encounter on a daily basis.
A few months ago, I woke up to find that I had become a victim of identity theft, and my back account had been totally drained. In fact it was over twenty thousand in the negative. I had no money to pay employees, to complete current projects that I was working on. In fact I couldn’t even afford to put gas in my car. This was truly a nightmare. Of course I was out raged. I jumped in the car and headed for the bank. On my way I caught a glance of myself in the rearview mirror and I did not like what I seen.
I realized that I was in a negative state, and began to immediately change the way I was looking at things. I knew from years of training and helping people around the world that if I took my negative state into the bank that it would spread, and things would not go well. I recomposed myself, went into the bank, and everyone commented on how well I was dealing with things. A few employees made comments about how they would be outraged if they were in my shoes. I explained to them that I understand things happen for a reason, and I would appreciate every effort to have this matter rectified as soon as possible.
I shared that story with you to illustrate the power of having a positive attitude. All to often people mistake the true meaning of being positive. It does not mean that you should ignore everything and pretend that things are fine. That would be crazy. Having a positive attitude simply means having a level head through life. You are going to have to face adversity no matter what you do because it is impossible to control external forces in your life. It is not what happens in life that makes the difference, it is what you do with what happens, that makes the difference.
Best Way To Use This Book
This book is not meant to be one of those quote books with just another list of quotes in it. In order to truly utilize this book you must do more than read the quote and move on. Here is my step-by-step instructions on how to leverage the power of this book and to transform your life.
Step 1
Chance are you downloaded this book because you are a positive person, and you are inspired by quotes. I want you to read all 101 quotes before you take any action. Get it out of your system you know that is exactly what to do. Once you have read through the quotes, it is time to move on to step two.
Step 2
Go back and start with the first quote and read it. Take a few minutes and truly think about what the quote means and determine how you can apply it to your life. Make a valid effort to share the quote with someone in your sphere of influence. A good way to do this is to explain to them about this book and tell them what you are doing.
Give this a try for each of the quotes in this book. The first week is the toughest. After that it will become second nature. Make reading quotes a part of your daily ritual, and I assure you that you will notice a huge transformation in the way you face adversity when it comes your way.
Step 3
Its time to take things to the next level. Get the physical book entitled Daily Quote Journal and take action. With the Daily Quote Journal you can actually write in the book and keep track of your progress. After 30 days it is recommended that you take a look back at what you have written. This will allow you to actually see your progress.
The problem with life transformation programs is that it requires that you make drastic changes overnight. As the old saying goes, old habits are hard to break. However if you were to make changes gradually over time before you know it you will have made the changes that you desire.
When I hold my seminars I often use as a metaphor a plane taking off from one destination to another. There is no such thing as a plan that takes off and flies in a straight line from point A to point B. When a plane leaves its starting point it checks its instruments to get a grasp on where it is currently as compared to where it wants to go. The plane will adjust its flight path slightly moving towards its destination and continue its flight. It will repeat this process until it finally reaches their destination.
This is the same approach that I recommend that you take to transforming your life and reaching your goals. The Daily Quote Journal is just a means to approach your goals with a positive outlook.
