Chapter 9

We drive to the store, which is also a tattoo shop. I seriously think that Aria is going to kill me someday, and today might be the day.

“You are not serious,” I say while getting out of the car.

“Um yes, why? You don’t want to do this?”

“No, I want to do this… but at a tattoo store?!” I say, hyperventilating while we are walking across the parking lot to the tattoo store. I don’t want to see the stupid people that are getting tattoos. Just thinking about it makes me want to throw up. She laughs while I say this.

“Oh Mia, calm down, this is where I got mine. It's the best store to get the piercing.” She laughs and pushes me. Damn it, I almost fell.

“Did you really think I was going to let you get a tattoo? Mia that’s crazy, it hurts so much, more than the piercing!” She laughs and I do too. Wow I’m crazy; did I seriously think that Aria was going to let me get a tattoo? That would be so stupid. Plus, Aria would kill me if I got one anyway; she hates tattoos, just like me. We go into the store and the first thing I see are tattoos, everywhere!!! Pictures of them on the wall, them on people and a book full of pictures of kinds of tattoos people like. This is literally making me sick. I walk all the way to where Aria is talking to someone at the counter. While making my way to her, trying not to faint because of the tattoos and the screams coming from people, I somehow feel like I recognize that person, somehow feel like I’ve known that person before. Somehow…

“Hey Mia, so where do you want your piercing? Like mine or somewhere else? I’ve already tricked you into getting one, so it’s your turn to put it where you want.” She says, smiling, but I don't see her smiling, I only see one thing, one thing that has been bothering me since the beginning. One thing that I would not forget for a long time. One thing that makes me want to punch someone so hard that it makes them cough up blood, and that one thing is Jackson.

“Hey Mia, so I hear you're getting a piercing.” He says in the sexy hot voice. How can he work here? He is too smart and too...untattooed to work here! I mean, this is a tattoo shop! A shop full of manic people that want to kill themselves with drawings or words on their body, that will never ever wash out, unless you cut your body part or something or get surgery which is a hell of a job and it’s even more pain than the tattoo itself.

“You work here? Why the hell do you work here?” I say, glaring at him.

“Mia! Don’t be rude!” Aria says as she slaps my arm.

“Nah it’s ok.” He smiles. “Yeah, I do work here, and yes I do get paid for not having any tattoos.”

“Wow, such a nice dream job, working here in the devil factory where you can hear the screams and the pain. Nice job.” I say while grinning at Aria. She does not look pleased with my attitude right now.

“Mia!” She says, looking at me, angry and confused by why I am being so mean to him.

“What? Sheesh, so are you going to pierce it or what?” I say acting cool so Jackson can find me exciting and cool, and for what? A piercing... Ugh, gosh I am so stupid.

“Um, I actually am. I’m the person who pierces. I can’t do the tattoos since I am not trained and I don’t have one”. He says, embarrassed for some reason. I don't know why he feels so embarrassed; boys are much hotter without tattoos.

“You are? Um, I mean you are??? Please god don’t make it horrible.” I say almost bending down and begging him to not pierce it badly.

“Don’t worry, I’m trained for these kind of things, you won’t even feel a thing since I’m doing it”. I will, because somehow, he is going to do it to me, which will make my heart jump faster than Aria onto guys.

“Um, ok…” I smile. “Just please don’t make it horrible and weird, I want it perfect since I want it just like my best friend's.”

“Don’t worry, just go settle down into that room and pick the earring you want for the piercing and I will be there in one minute.” He says, smiling at me like everything's going to be all right which it is not, since I’m about to have my ear pierced by Jackson Reed. My crush, the boy who I dream about every night.

“I can’t breathe, I think I’m going to puke, like actually puke Aria, and it’s all your damn fault.”

“Um, no it’s not. You wanted to do it and so you're going to do it because we are already here and it’s mean to leave Jackson since he is actually paid to do this for you Mia”. She says crossing her arms and looking at me like I killed someone.

  “But...but, he is doing it…”

“Mia, his name is Jackson and he won’t bite you”

“Hmm, you don’t know.” Although, I wouldn't mind that. OMG what the hell is wrong with me? Is it my hormones? Am I getting my period or something? Oh gosh, I hope so…

“Ok, so which one do you want?” Aria says while making her way to the rack full of hanged earrings, which look really pretty.

“Hmm, I think I want…” I say while scratching the back of my head like I’m answering a math question or something.

“Oh, this one is cute, what do you think?” I tell Aria at the earring I am pointing at which is a ring, but around it has blue fake diamonds that look cute.

“Ooh, that looks so cute. Damn, now I’m jealous.” She says as Jackson walks in.

Get ready for the pain Mia, get ready for getting punctured into your ear by your crush. Never thought I would say that…
