People at the camp had been hurriedly summoned by telephone. Mrs. Wabash drove out. The curator, his wife, and their daughter were there along with several State Police to guard the valuable find. Now the whole story was told to the group of young archaeologists.

  Professor Don Maguire got up to speak. “Everyone on this dig has made a valuable contribution to science,” he said, “but I think we should have a rousing cheer for Nancy Drew. Her discovery is invaluable!”

  Nancy blushed at the applause and calls that filled the desert air.
