Page 40 of A Stranger's Fear

Lance Richard.

He heard the talk involved saying prayers out loud towards Lance Richard himself who'll always help them with a problem. He sighed and felt his shoulder squeezed gently. He peered out of the corners of his eye to spot his Father Robert Jinx O'Neil but dubbing himself Jinks to him, still looking young as ever as the hand's owner standing next to him.

This time his Father was wearing a disguise of a fake beard and mustache with long black hair hidden underneath a shoulder length brown wig who gave the familiar signal of squeezing his shoulder to point out his presence. It was regardless of what disguise his Father was wearing to hide himself from people including silently letting him know of his presence without verbalizing that he was here.

Robert saw a hint of a smile on his Father's bare lips and in his blue eyes. He sighing seeing that the message of Lance Richard was finally gotten and received by his children and grandchildren judging by their conversations he overheard talk subject on his lesson.

Robert eyed his Father who walked out of the room unnoticed by the room's inhabitants as always from whatever situation he reunited with him with. He sighed feeling old age hitting him groaned softly to stare at the fire.

He absent mildly eavesdropped onto conversations spoken within the room by his own adult four children with their spouses and his eight grandchildren. He sighed to eye a picture on the mantel that had his Mother Aurora looking old as he was looking and himself young as his Father on his graduation day from college in Columbia.

He sighed recalling told by his Mother Aurora on who his actual Father was when he was fifteen years old. That despite growing up without a male paired to his Mother.

He recalled being told by Jinks "Deidrick Knight, your Mother's husband never woke up from his sleeping status he was found in a vehicle in. There was no explanation to why he was in his sleeping status said instead Deidrick was humanly put down to death after it was obvious that he wasn't going to wake up. His death status happened after a full planetary cycle around the sun dubbed year of being in a sleeping status with nothing working on getting him to wake up."

Robert sighed again to recall that at age fifteen is when he actually met his Father who gave up an odd name of Jinks for referring to him and no other name. That name was used other than being the vessel of Lance Richard and refusing to accept the name of the deity as his own name.

He frowned listening to the conversations among him recalling that his Father told him the story he narrated to his children and grandchildren.

He recalled the telling of the story by his Father fully within his mind and sighed again that he had a good memory of it enough to tell his own children and now his grandchildren of it.

He sighed again and mentally spoke "Well this time I'll hope that my own children will pass down the story and its lesson to their own grandchildren. Once their children are old enough to have children themselves is when I hope it gets passed down."

He got an image of Lance Richard flashing within his mind not shocking him for usually getting that image.

This was followed by a mental cruel like male voice speaking "Don't worry Robbie. I'll see that the story you told gets passed down period. I aim to use my vessel as the one who'll see the story passed down not just in your family circle. This story will be told among people whether their believers of me or not. So don't worry about it."

Robert sighed again getting nothing else from Lance Richard cleared his throat and spoke loudly "Melania did you record this story I told to the grandchildren?"

He eyed his daughter who held up a familiar tubal device in her hand in sight.

He heard from her "Yes I got the entire story recorded visually and auditory. I aim to make a print version of the story once it's possible for me to do it."

Robert spoke "Good to hear. Bless you on that recording. It'll be for reminding people of that story over the years.

May my wife Katherine's soul rest in peace knowing that her favorite story will get passed down among future generations."

He heard nothing from the grandchildren but silence as his children ushered them out of the room hearing them talking about it time for bed.

He heard them add time for the grandchildren to sleep due to how late it was getting leaving him alone in the room with the fire still roaring away. He sighed and felt the familiar squeeze on his shoulder to find his Father was back into the room still wearing his disguise covering his face despite twin clothing as his a plaid shirt with overalls and snow boots on.

Robert spoke "So what did you think of the story I told the children and grandchildren?"

He got from his Father signing in his familiar hand signs hardly every using his voice towards him or anyone unless threatened and saving family members from certain deadly situations is when his voice would be used.

His Father signed "They'll believe it as a tall tale and not actually the truth. I always have gotten this tall tale attitude from people after they hear the story. The lesson that Lance Richard wanted people to learn has always been understood by people listening to the story. They sometimes follow that lesson with a half hearted attitude. Don't worry it'll take awhile before the lesson takes effect within people to realize its importance like you did Robert."

He spoke "Yes I did get the lesson after I lost my wife Katherine to terminal cancer leaving me to raise four children alone as a single parent. I understand its importance, Father hence I telling it to the grandchildren. Also making sure that Melania got the story I told on recorder and her goals of getting it in print. It'll serve as a reminder to generations to come."

He yawned abruptly while eyeing his Father who didn't sign a word instead forced his eyes shut in response while feeling the male's hand on his forehead. He felt himself giving his life up to death and smiled on his lips knowing that his Father was granting his last wish of a peaceful death despite aches and pains of old age hitting him.
