I looked out of the window as Dan chased one of the packs pups around the swimming pool. I watched in amazement as Dan tripped and fell into the pool, the girl laughed and he frowned before grabbing her and dumping her in the pool. She squealed in surprise and started laughing. Dan looked up and our eyes locked, he looked at me like he was stalking his prey. He came into the house and grabbed me while I protested, the next thing I know I’m being dropped into the pool. I sat up coughing and spluttering, glaring at Dan who had a satisfied grin on his face.

“I didn’t think you would come for me.” I said.

“I’ll always come for you, even inscribed in on your locket so that you would know.”

He pulled me to him for a soft kiss and I remembered the lockets words, the words that my father spoke to my mother, and now the words that Dan spoke to me.

“Forget me not, for one day I will come for you and you will be mine and I will always love you and keep you safe.” Dan whispered in my ear.
