Chapter Eight

  1

Tears ran down Trevor’s face and he didn’t know why. He had just waked up and hadn’t been able to control his emotions. He couldn’t remember whether or not he had a dream, but he was sure that he must have had one.

An image of a white horse kept creeping into his head. The image kept him thinking that he had to of had a dream.

There wasn’t a reason why he should have been crying. He had been dealing with a lot of stress. Stress that he hadn’t told anyone about, but there was nothing that would make him cry.

He had calmed down and decided to read. He picked up his Bible and started turning the pages. He didn’t stop till he got to the book of Revelation.

  He started reading chapter one.

  2

People around the world stop what they were doing or woke up from their sleep, when an explosion was heard around the globe. The people didn’t know what to think, because no one had seen the explosion.

There was no fire or anything going on in the sky. It was just a cloudy day and rain looked like it was on its way.

The pale horse hung over the world in the skies. Its rider was death and hell was to follow.

The people of the world had just gone about their business. Half the world went to bed and the rest was getting their days started.

The explosion had made all the news channels. No one had figured out what had made the sudden explosion that was heard around the world.

They also didn’t know that the fourth horsemen had arrived. They wouldn’t even had been able to imagine what was about to follow the fourth horsemen.

May God have mercy on us all.

  3

Pastor Charlie Rogers stood quietly in front of his congregation. People sat in their seats with their eyes on him. The sheep were scared and didn’t know which way to turn and he knew that God sent him to tend to the flock.

“The time is here,” Pastor Rogers started. “You might ask how I know this and if you do, well then you apparently are too blind and deaf to see or hear about the fourth and final horsemen hanging in the sky.” This got a small chuckle out of his congregation. “It is time to repent and be with your follow Christians. I, myself will be here at Anderson Southern Baptist Church every day and all day.” People looked at each other and then back to him. “That right, I will stay here to support and defend our church till that final day of reckoning.”

The congregation all said amen at the same time. They all were happy about the new decision made by their pastor. The all had been loyal members of the church for years. The church has been activity in many ways in the Anderson community. They would do anything that their pastor advised him to do. They truly believed that Pastor Charlie Rogers had God on his side.

“I invite you all to come and join me too.” He looked out over the people as he started again. “You must remember your Bible. Behold a pale horse; and his name that sat on him was death, and Hell followed him. My dear sweat congregation, hell is coming and where are you going to be when it does?” He paused for a moment to let what he said sink in. “Will you be out there with the wicked? Or will you be in here with me repent for you sins and waiting on Jesus Christ’s return.”

People started to stand up and putting their hands up in the air and they kept saying amen. Pastor Rogers just stood there will his congregation praised God. He knew that things were going to get really bad and that the only chance that they had was to stick together. The end of the world could now come at any time and he waited every last person he could reach to be ready.

“Go home and tell all your families,” he said. “Get your families ready, get your friends ready, and then come back here and let’s make this our new home. We’ll bring the things that we need to survive. Food supplies around the world will be running out, so we need to get as much as we can store for the church and anyone else who needs our help.”

Pastor Rogers walked around the podium and to say one last thing. “We are finally going home in Heaven.”

  4

A knock on the door came and Father Collins put his bottle of scotch back into his drawer. The Catholic Church has been very busy with people who believe that it is the end of times. Father Collins had been a non-believe at first, but know the fourth horsemen, he knew that he was about to experience hell on earth.

  “Come in,” he shouted.

He knew who it was and had been waiting. He had been sitting at his desk waiting. He had gotten through the service and two confessions without a problem.

“Hello,” voice said before anyone entered.

“Yes, come on in,” Father Collins said.

The young boy walked slowly into his office. It was his little Larry. He had asked Larry to come to his office.

  “Hi there,” Father Collins said.

Larry didn’t say anything. He had looked up for a moment and then back down to the floor. He was always a little shy.

“I asked you here,” Father Collins started. He picked up his Bible. “So, you can sit and read with me. I heard you were having a little problem with your reading.”

Larry nodded that he understood. Larry’s mom had told him about her conversation with Father Collins. Father Collins had been nice enough to offer to help out Larry with his reading.

“Come over here,” Collins said. “Come and sit with me.”

Collins had stayed seated behind his desk. Larry had started to sit in the chair in front of the desk.

“Bring it over here,” Collins said.

Larry stood for a moment confused. Why did they need to sit so close? Larry took the chair over and sat it by Father Collins’ chair.

Larry tried not to get too close to Father Collins. He didn’t feel comfortable. He had always felt uncomfortable around Father Collins.

Father Collins opened his Bible and laid it in front of them. He had Larry start reading the story of David and Goliath. Only a minute or two had passed before Collins had put his arm around Larry’s shoulders. He pulled Larry close to him.

“You know, Larry?” Collins started. He caressed Larry’s shoulder. “You are a very good boy. I just feel so good around you.”

Collins’ put his head down close to Larry. He noticed that Larry had pulled away a little. He could no longer control himself. He pulled out his penis as Larry kept reading scriptures.

Larry stopped reading when Father Collins took a hold of his wrist. Collins had placed Larry’s had on his leg. Then he started moving Larry’s hand to his crotch.

“No, sir,” Larry said. There was fear in his eyes. “I can’t.”

“It’s alright, Larry,” Collins said. He felt the boy’s fingers when he touched the spot. “Don’t be afraid.”

“Isn’t this wrong?” Larry asked. He was about to cry. “This is a sin.”

“Oh, no,” Collins said. “This is no sin. You are just helping a man in pain. Help me get rid of this pain.”

Collins kept forcing Larry to move his hand. He didn’t notice what Larry was doing with his other hand. Collins also didn’t see what was coming next.

Larry had stabbed Father Collins in the throat with a pencil. When Collins pulled the pencil out, blood squirted out into the air.

Collins had tried to cover his throat. Larry stood and watched Father Collins finally collapse. Then there was no movement.

Larry wanted to run, but couldn’t move. His face was covered in tears.

Terry pulled up to Trevor’s house and hoped that he was home. His car was there but that didn’t mean anything. She decided to keep on driving.

Terry didn’t feel like going home. She didn’t want just another night home with her grandma.

Her first plan was just to go out and get something to eat. She didn’t know why she had gone by Trevor’s house. She didn’t understand why she was thinking of Robert.

Terry ended up driving past Robert??
?s place. She couldn’t tell if he was home or not. She wasn’t going to stop and find out.

There was nothing else she could think of to do. She had stopped and got something to eat. The she had gone home.

  6

It was quiet night at the Anderson County jail. All the inmates were locked down and most were asleep. The guards all still stood on alert. The jail had filled to maximum capacity.

A new inmate had them all on edge. Jack Duggan had been admitted to the jail. He had been arrested on six counts of murder and rape. He had been in jail before for animal cruelty.

Jack was being held in an isolation cell. He had tried to attack the guards and other inmates. No guard was safe around him.

Jack had been unstable all his life. He killed his first animal when he was only eight. He was only being charged with six murders, but he had started years ago.

Jack had been pacing around his cell. He couldn’t sleep. He couldn’t even bring himself to lie down. There was a strange feeling in the air.

The jail’s clock clicked over to midnight. The inmates never knew what the time was. That was when Jack’s cell door clicked. The click was only heard when the door was unlocked.

Jack did the required drill when a cell door was to be opened. He faced the wall opposite the door. He held his hands down to his side.

Jack didn’t hear the door open. He didn’t hear any footsteps behind him. He only felt the hand that landed on his shoulder.

He had been planning on causing some trouble. He knew that any quick movements that he would be taken down to the floor. He didn’t like being taken down while he faced the wall. They took him down like that once and he busted his head open on the wall.

“Relax,” a voice said. Jack had never heard the voice before. “I have come to give you a second chance.”

“Second chance at what?” Jack asked.

The man that stood behind Jack chuckled. Jack was sure that the guards were playing a trick on him.

  “Turn around,” the man said.

Jack did what he was told. It had to be a new guard that they sent to mess with him. Jack was going to make them pay for it. He forced himself not to smile.

He turned and there stood an old man that wore a black robe. There was something about the man’s eyes that told Jack that it was no guard. Almost not even a man.

“A second chance in life,” the man said.

Jack gave the man a confused look. It had to be a hell of a good prank played by the guards.

“When it’s time,” he said. He turned and walked out of the cell. “You will be set free.”

The cell door slammed shut. Jack stood confused. He ran to the door and pushed on it. It was locked like it had never been opened.

What if the man was serious? He would do anything to not have to go to prison.
