CHAPTER 12

“Ladies and Gems!” Ryan appeared upon a stage as his agents forced civilians to gather around him.

There was a thing on the stage that looked medieval, there were three nooses that hung from the top of the wooden thing. I didn't know what it was called, but knew exactly what it was used for.

“Bring out the prisoners!” Ryan shouted.

Kyle came out with a bruised and cut face he brought out two agents who came out with two people who's face were covered with a pillow case. The agents brought the two prisoners in front of the nooses then snatched the cover off of their heads.

The agents cheered and hollered, but I nearly gasped. There upon the stage, about to be hung, were Sam and Wade. Their hands were bound behind their backs and both of their faces were cut and bleeding.

I put my head down and started towards the stage. The other masked Triton agents all cheered and waved their hands in the air so I was covered up by their movement as I made my way towards the end of the stage. I quickly got behind a parked car and looked around for something to use as a distraction.

“Okay! Calm yourselves. Let's get on with the hanging.” Ryan boasted from the stage.

I ran to the red pick up truck and used the butt of my AK to shatter the passenger side window. The car alarm went off and I quickly ducked behind the stage.

“Someone go check on that,” Ryan spit, “If you find anyone, bring them up here! There's one more spot open.”

Three agents came around the bend, studying the area around the truck. I backed up and something touched my arm. Jumping around, I noticed it was a box of ammo and grenades. I quickly grabbed a few grenades and put them in my pockets then grabbed the box of ammo.

  “All clear!” the agents said.

“Must'a been a dog or somethin'.” I heard Kyle huff.

I brought the box of ammo towards the truck and quietly placed it underneath of it.

“Alright. Back to the hanging! Put the nooses around their necks boys!” Ryan commanded.

I took a grenade out and took out the pin then swiftly threw it into the box of ammo and backed up and ran back behind the stage, covering my head and staying low as I got away from the blast range.

  “Some—”

  Boom!

The explosion sounded and screams were heard. The heat caused the ammo in the box to go off, popping off in all directions. Everyone scattered and I took out my silenced pistol and stayed behind the tall stage. Standing up, I used my pistol to free Sam and Wade from the nooses that were above them.

As people screamed and scattered, agents hurriedly got Ryan and Kyle to safety.

“Hey!” I called, taking off the mask.

Sam and Wade both turned to me then ran towards me. They jumped off of the stage and I quickly used my silenced pistol to shoot the bonds off of their hands.

“We gotta get out of here.” Wade said, “C'mon.”

He got down and started towards the other end of the stage. Sam and I followed behind him.
