Chapter 3 – The Battle By Water

I simply cannot believe what I have recently walked into, an age’s old conflict that had taken millennia to finally overflow. Witchkind has kept a peace amongst their species unlike any other on this planet. Their sole duty is the protection of this Earth, Terra, as they call it, and protect it they did. They stopped the Demons twice, rid the planet of all mythical beasts, and even ran the Vampires into hiding at one point. But now, finally, after centuries of silent disagreements that had been quietly hushed and ignored in all their books of history, this once mighty race can no longer coexist. They blamed each other for the split, but honestly, I don’t think they could have done anything to avoid it. You see, I believe the sole culprit of this war to be nothing more than time. And that is because time eventually forces everything to happen. And for a race with life spans stretching out through millions of years, their time of life dictated by the circling of our solar system around the central black hole of our galaxy as opposed to the circling of the Earth around the Sun, such a severance was ultimately inevitable,. And if their species wished to survive into the future, this war was actually very necessary.

In order to not only survive in such a world but protect it, as well, a species needed to be a single cohesive unit, all working together towards a single goal. And at the moment we have two units working towards different goals within a single future, something that will only work to hinder both sides equally. But eventually someone will win out, and that could very well happen tonight.

  Oh, how exciting!

Now all I need to do is find a nice vantage point and watch an evolutionary event in action. The weak will die while the strong survive to help carry the heavy weight of their entire kind upon their shoulders. And while I do that… I need to get a good lock on Jade and Reggio. I’m curious to see how he handles himself in a real fight. Angela and Stace were strong, but they were literally nothing compared to Rita. I know that for a fact. But anyway, before I ramble on anymore than I already have… to the trees!
