on trust. Later much later, I would discover how little we had seen of the ship on that first visit.

  After what felt like an endless walk of discovery, but in fact was a mere ten minutes, we found ourselves standing in the map room. It was a high vaulted study, with a large number of desks, high shelves of what looked like books and screens that lowered automatically from the ceiling. It also had the largest circular window we had seen so far, and the view it framed was that of our sapphire planet.

  We clustered by that large window. Drawn like bees to honey, we all wanted to get as close as we could it seemed to our homes far below. Or maybe we were just hypnotised by the magnificent view, something we never thought we would see. There is no sight more beautiful, than the blue seas, coloured continents and white swirling clouds of our planet. I know that now. We looked and looked, until we could look no more.
