Page 6 of Adam's Love

  Chapter 6

It was Wednesday morning and Adam’s fourth lesson with his Maths teacher, Mr Khan.

The lesson ended and after a few minutes it ended, Mr Khan spoke to Adam. “And this very lucky girl who’s grabbed your undivided attention, what’s her name?”

Adam looked up to Mr Khan. “It’s Zhara, sir,” he answered.

“Oh, Zhara. Yes, she’s a nice girl.”

“Nice girl, sir?” began Adam. “She’s beautiful!” exclaimed Adam as he breathed inwards slowly. “Sir, she’s so beautiful that even the rain itself baths in her beauty!” Adam elaborated as he breathed slowly inwards at the thought of Zhara.

“Well, you like her and that’s what matters,” said Mr Khan, admiring Adam’s love for his girlfriend.

“Like her, sir?” scoffed Adam. “I love her; she’s my whole life … she’s the only reason why I live,” explained Adam, smiling at his teacher. “To tell you the truth, sir, she loves me so much that I’ve begun loving my life too!” Adam stated joyfully.

“Well, it’s good to know that Zhara means a lot to you; I’m pleased for you both.”

  “Thank you, sir,” said Adam.

  “You’re welcome, Adam.”

“No, sir, I really mean it: Thank you.”

  “For what?” asked Mr Khan.

“For your guidance,” Adam answered. “If it wasn’t for what you said to me last week, sir, I wouldn’t be with Zhara today,” explained Adam.

“Oh, it was nothing, Adam,” began Mr Khan. “I’m sure I didn’t do anything that any other staff wouldn’t have done.”

“No, sir; you did do something that no other staff has ever done for me,” Adam stated adamantly.

  Mr Khan pursed his lips.

“Anyway, sir, I’d better get going. I’m meeting Zhara,” Adam beamed.

“Well, you’d better not keep the lady waiting!” joked Mr Khan. “Go on. Off you go now!”

  “See you, sir.”

  “See you, Adam.”

After Adam left the classroom, Mr Khan had a thoughtful expression thinking about something.

  …..

The school day ended, and Adam briskly made his way through the corridors and out of the school building and in to the school yard; he could clearly see Zhara waiting for him with craving eyes.

  “Hi,” Adam greeted Zhara.

“Hi,” said Zhara with a smile, returning the greeting, her eyes now glowing in Adam’s presence.

“Hope you’ve not been waiting long?” asked Adam.

“No, I only came myself,” answered Zhara.

“Come on; let’s go,” said Adam.

“Where are we going?” asked Zhara.

“You’ll find out,” simply answered Adam.

  “Adam!” exclaimed Zhara.

“Do you trust me?” asked Adam.

“I think you know the answer to that,” answered Zhara.

  “Well then; come on.”

  “Oh, OK,” Zhara inhaled inwards.

  …..

Adam brought Zhara near a small, steady stream.

“This is a nice place,” stated Zhara with a soft smile, scanning her surroundings.

“I know,” agreed Adam. “I come here often just to be all alone,” he explained.

“Yes, it’s so quiet here,” noted Zhara as she turned around looking at the surrounding.

“Yeah. That’s what I like about it; it’s peace and quiet here,” said Adam as he looked around. “I’d come here to get away from it all.”

“What do you mean?” asked Zhara.

Adam inhaled deeply before answering. “When I didn’t get to see you at school, I would feel so miserable that I would come here and … cry.”

  “Cry?”

“Yeah. Cry,” said Adam. “It was too much for me not being able to see you all those weeks, and it didn’t get any easier with each day; in fact, it just got worst,” explained Adam.

“Oh, Adam.” Zhara stared at Adam.

“I’d sit here and watch the water flow in the stream or listen to the birds.”

“Did it help?” Zhara asked curiously.

“Not really,” Adam answered admittingly inhaling inwards slowly.

“So what did you think about?” asked Zhara.

Adam breathed inwards slowly before answering. “Oh, this and that but mostly that,” answered Adam, smiling.

  “I see,” simply said Zhara.

“I’m only joking,” said Adam. “I’d actually think about you all the time; every single second.”

There was a brief pause before she continued. “What are you going to do after school?”

  “Go home!” Adam simply replied.

“I mean after leaving Year 11!” Zhara pointed out.

“Oh, right,” said an embarrassed Adam, now understanding Zhara’s question. “That’s easy. After leaving school, I’ll continue to love you.”

  “And after that?”

“That’s easy again,” began Adam. “I’ll continue to love you more!” explained Adam as he smiled.

  “And after that?”

“I’ll continue you love you even more! And for ever and ever and ever!”

There was a further pause as Zhara smiled and then Adam stared at Zhara.

“I hate it,” Adam simply stated.

  “Hate what?” asked Zhara.

“I hate it even being any farther away from you than I am now,” declared Adam.

Zhara stared at Adam before taking several steps and came close to him.

“Is this close enough?” asked Zhara, her voice shy.

“It’s still too far,” answered Adam. “You’ll need to come closer.”

Zhara moved closer still … and closer still until she was only an inch away from Adam.

Unexpectedly, Zhara embraced Adam, resting her head on his chest; Adam tightened the embrace.

“Oh, Adam!” said Zhara, feeling Adam’s warmth from his body and her eyes glowing in his presence, a significant signal of her strong love for Adam.

  “Oh, Zhara! I love you!”

Then both Zhara and Adam leaned slightly away from each other and stared at one another, clearly enjoying each other’s company.

Zhara’s face glowed as if it lip up from inside, powered by the heat from her heart.

Adam stared at Zhara and then, slowly, very slowly, he leaned forwards towards Zhara until their lips were almost touching.

“I haven’t kissed anyone before,” said Zhara.

“I know, and for that reason, we can practice for the real thing,” said Adam jokingly, smiling, and next, he did what he did best.

In complete control and perfectly poised, Adam ... kissed Zhara.

It was a magical moment for the both of them!

Zhara was so happy she felt she could burst any minute at that milestone magical moment!

Having kissed, Zhara shyly rested her head on Adam’s chest as he held her tight in his strong arms.

“I love you, Zhara,” Adam said with strong excited emotion.

“You won’t leave me,” asked Zhara, tightening her hold around Adam.

  “Never!” Adam declared adamantly.

  “Promise?”

“I promise never to leave you,” confirmed Adam.

  “Are you sure?”

“Zhara, I might break legs, but I certainly don’t break promises, especially one given to you,” explained Adam.

  “Thank you, Adam.”

“I should be the one thanking you,” pointed out Adam instantly. “After all, if it hadn’t been for you, I’d probably have ended up swearing strongly at staff in some pupil referral unit by now.”

“I’m sure I didn’t do anything,” Zhara said modestly.

“Oh, you did do something that no other girl has ever done for me,” said Adam.

“And what’s that, Adam?” Zhara asked curiously.

“You’re the only girl that has tamed me,” answered Adam. “To tell you the truth, I never thought there
would be a girl who could tame like me,” stated Adam, as he stared at Zhara with affection.

“Nobody is bad, Adam; it’s just their circumstances that aren’t right – that’s all,” explained Zhara, pursing her lips as she stared at Adam affectionately as well, her excited eyes sparkling like twin jewels.
