Sapphira, though devastated by her sister’s death, applied Acacia’s blood to the garden so they could finally bring Makaidos back. The king of the dragons joined the battle, and the forces of Second Eden rallied to beat back the undead army. Walter, however, was wounded severely, and without the energy of the garden he would die.
Makaidos volunteered to die again and allow his energy to stimulate the garden’s healing power, but Goliath intervened and vowed to sacrifice himself instead. Although possessed by Nephilim spirits, Goliath broke from their hold when he remembered his Second Eden identity as Dragon—Listener’s father and Angel’s husband. Goliath’s sacrifice allowed Walter to live and also restored the dragons, if they so wished, to their human forms.
The forces of Second Eden prevailed. Flint joined the side of Abraham’s army and fell in battle, but the light of his companion gave us great hope that he finally repented of his rebellion. At the end of the battle, we captured Mardon and Semiramis and imprisoned them in Second Eden.
Bonnie Silver then split the dimensions apart, returning the realms to their rightful places in the universe. A glorious marriage ceremony followed, with three couples at last joined together—Elam to his beloved Sapphira, Walter Foley to Ashley Stalworth, and Billy Bannister to Bonnie Silver.
A year later, Bonnie and Billy’s happiness blossomed into parenthood, as they welcomed their twins Karen and Charles into the world—a world at peace with Second Eden, where there were no slayers to thirst for dragon blood, and anthrozils were accepted by society.
At least that is how things seemed at the time.
