She settled her head on his shoulder with a happy sigh. “She said she was on their track and hopeful. She has a magical gift for finding, I think, and she loves practicing it. She said that her husband has even found it useful.”
“And so magic enters the life of the noble duke.” Jack held his wife tight, inhaling the rosemary scent of her hair. “Just like it entered my life the day I met you.”
He placed his hand on her belly again, then caught his breath as a vision of two towheaded toddlers filled his mind. “Twins!” he exclaimed as the children of his vision each raised a hand. Magical light blazed from the small palms, meeting and swirling into one bright sphere. “You’re carrying twins! A boy and a girl. Not one wizard, but two.”
She laughed, her aquamarine eyes bright with joy. “I was wondering how long it would be till you realized that. We are doubly blessed. After all—you’re Lucky Jack.” She gave a smile that touched his heart. “And I’m lucky, lucky Abby.”
