Page 2 of Check In

  ****

Ted descended the staircase with slow steps. He came to main door and peeped outside the glass. Checked the condition of weather for a moment and returned to his spot. He plugged in the computer and continued his game. He was really enjoying playing that game. Anyone who would have seen him that moment would have said that he's got nothing better to do than playing that game. An hour and a half passed. Eventually, it stopped raining. Ted just finished playing the level, then got up, grabbed his jacket from the closet, got his flashlight out of the drawer of the counter, turned it on a couple of times to see if it is working properly. Then he finally got of the motel, started walking noiselessly down the road.

"Now, where the hell did he leave his car?"

After walking for some time, he found Vince's car. He came close. Obviously the car was locked. He broke a side window with his bare fist and got inside. Ted checked all of the compartments but found nothing valuable inside. He got outside, stood there, thinking over the whole situation for a couple of moments. Then he started pushing the car. He stopped three times to catch his breath in the way. When he reached in front of the Inn with car, he was dripping sweat.

"Hang on, Son, just a couple of steps more." He kept pushing the car until he reached that swamp behind the motel. Ted gave a final push and stood there as he watched the car disappearing into the depths of the swamp.
