  A Note from the Author

Thank you for reading my book. If you would be so kind as to leave a review at your preferred online retailer, that’d be great. Self-published authors need all the publicity we can get. If you’d like, keep scrolling to learn more about me and the other books I’ve written.

Also, after writing Cicada Song, I was fortunate to have developed a small readership who asked for more. In response, I wrote a new novel set in the town of Anderson taking place two years after the conclusion of this novel. It is a new story with new characters, but those of you who have read this novel will recognize a lot of characters you grew to love while reading Cicada Song. Remember Sara's deceased ex-boyfriend Michael whose entire family died in a car accident? Remember how Sara mentioned only his older brother survived, and he left Anderson shortly after? Well, Not Quite Home tells the story of Michael's brother Adam who returns to Anderson on the 10th anniversary of his family's deaths. Want to know more? Keep scrolling for the preview!

Thanks for giving Cicada Song a shot. I hope you liked it enough to try some of my other novels.

  Bradford Combs

  About the Author:

Bradford Combs is a self-taught writer who nearly gave up his dream before it began. Having never taken a writing course, he began writing as a hobby only to be told he lacked the talent. He gave up for two years until an online friend read his work and encouraged him to continue. Bradford decided at that point to utilize every outlet available to make himself a better writer and continues to do so to this day. “Mr. Brad” is a school janitor by day and an author by night. He lives in Hamilton, Ohio with his wife and two daughters.

  Acknowledgments:

I’d like to start by admitting that I was quite distant from God during the writing of this novel. Having found my way back to Him, however, I’d like to thank Him for the imagination that birthed this story, and I hope the final result pleases Him in some way. With that said, I’d like to thank my wife Holly for showing support and patience as I slaved to turn this idea into reality. I’d like to thank Sandra Sexton, Joanne Whitaker, Regina Ramsey, and Debra Wyatt for the advice that made this novel a better read and for their overall support. To Andrea Pearson, whose journey to eBook publication encouraged me to do likewise. And lastly, thanks to you, the reader, for giving my work a chance. I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. Thank you.

  Summary

While driving home from his family’s vacation, seventeen-year-old Adam Bailey made an irresponsible decision that cost his family their lives. Now, ten years later, Adam returns to Anderson with hopes of rebuilding what he had lost, but can Anderson be home without those he loved? Guilt ridden and alone, Adam finds comfort in the residents of Annie’s Lodge, particularly a young mother named Ginny Schanding. Adam must learn to forgive God and himself in order to move on, but forgiveness is not Adam’s only obstacle. Someone is stalking the residents of Annie’s Lodge with a dangerous, lustful eye—and he’s determined to get what he wants.

Returning to the town he created in Cicada Song, Bradford Combs tells a story of love, family, and above all else, forgiveness.
