Chapter Four

Roger put every furniture he could move in front of the door in order to block the entrance. He destroyed the security devices of the house. He tied up the unconscious Pyrat's legs and arms with a piece of clothing. Then he noticed the crystallized lens on the floor that all the guardians wore.

He put it on his right eye and it immediately adjusted to his head and fixed. There were several strange signs appearing on the screen, he looked out on the window and it zoomed automatically. Whatever it zoomed on it could follow its movement, helping to aim at it. He then noticed the uragans approaching the little square and several dozens of armored guardians jumping off them with their weapons. He quickly grabbed Pyrat's gun from the ground. There was a small cross appearing on its screen. The reptile soldiers soon surrounded the whole house. They were accompanied by two armed dorgs. Roger found shelter under a window. He heard someone talking to him in English.

"Human, give out our mate scot-free! Put down your weapon and surrender yourself. Then you have a chance to stay alive! We will kill you otherwise!"

Roger smiled and gave a quick response.

  "Fuck you lizard-heads!"

He glanced out the Plexiglas window and opened it carefully. With the help of the lens, he located one of the guardians, who were ready to fire their weapons and shot. The blueish energy-missile hit the reptilian at his chest and suddenly an invisible shield flashed around him, protecting him from the energy shot. The surprised soldier faltered, but the gun made no harm in him. There was suddenly a series of shots towards Roger, shattering the window, while other bullets slammed into the wall, burning huge holes in it.

Roger took shelter behind one of the oval tables turned over on the ground. The fusillade lasted for more than thirty seconds and when it was over, the two shiny dorgs started their attack through the window.

They had two weapons each on their sides. The man immediately aimed at one and fired his gun with the help of the locating device on his eye. The first shot hit the flying machine, it lurched and scintillated, but it was still operable. He needed two more shots to make it fall to the ground. The other attacking device located him and aimed at him. One of the energy missiles hit the wall, but the other hit Roger on the shoulder. He felt unbearable pain and the smell of burning meat. Setting his teeth, he aimed again and with a series of successful shots, he made the other dorg out of action.
