He shook his head. "Someones. Not all our enemies attended the final battle. Gethin is missing."

"And we have to fetch that girl. Carey," Marge reminded us.

"And that son of a horse's rear Deacon betrayed us," Captain Black spoke up.

  My shoulders slumped. "More adventuring."

Erik chuckled and pulled me close against him. It was nice to feel the warmth of that hard chest. "We will see what the Guards find. If necessary, we will search them out ourselves."

"But not before you have had a well-deserved rest," Lady Greenwood scolded her son.

"A dozen years should do it," I agreed.

"Not that long. You need to visit me some time," Bree insisted.

  "And me," Lilly chimed in.

Erik chuckled and lifted me into his arms. "I would like some time alone with my own mate."

Lady Greenwood clapped her hands and everyone's attention turned to her. "You have heard his request, and we are all in need of rest. Tomorrow is a new day of repair for the Den, and a rejuvenation for the islands."

I leaned my cheek against Erik's chest and sighed. "And a long, long vacation for me."
