About the Author
I am just a 62 year old guy that gets to write occasionally as the Lord puts things in my spirit. Ever since I was around seven years old I would wake in the middle of the night with things running through me to write and could never go to sleep until I would get up and write them down. Once I met Jesus as my Savior then I more fully understood the reason. Now I have many books of poem called Ministry in Poem and other books with lessons learned and teachings from God's Word called Colorful Truths.. This particular writing was not the norm for me but for three weeks these would go through me to write. I hope you enjoy these as much as I did in getting to write them down.

1. All Alone Pupper
It was the middle of night
And all was dark
The poor doggy was sad
Cause all he could do was bark
He was tucked away
In his little house
No one around
Not even a mouse
Nothing to drink
Nothing to eat
Not even a blankie
To warm his little seat
All forgotten
With not even a window to look out
If he only had a voice
Maybe he could shout
But who would hear?
As his master was toasty warm in bed
Under his covers
With the pillow over his head
Guess he will just cry
All night long
And hope that the morning
Will bring him a new song
He will just dream
Of days when he was a pup
And was given love and care
And food and water in a cup
The air is cold
On his little nose
So he covers it with his paw
In hopes that by morning it wasn't froze
Good night cruel world
Oh woe is me
Just hope that tomorrow
Something better will be.
2. In the Doghouse
I just got put into my doghouse
As I was told that I was bad
I don't know what I did
Cause I was so happy and glad
I played in the yard
And chased a kitty
I chewed on a paper
And made confetti
I barked at the neighbor
When they took out their trash
I found a wallet on the sofa
And chewed up some cash
I dug in the garden
Looking for my bone
I got my paws all muddy
And pulled the cord from the telephone
I spilled my water on the floor
And made a small mess
I had mud on my feet
And walked on Suzy's dress
Someone please tell me
Was I really bad?
I am just being a puppy
What is expected of a pupper lad?
I can't understand
What I did wrong
Why am I out here?
I wonder for how long?
Guess I will just lie here and think
Of a new thing to play
Because after the night
Comes another day.
3. Let's Go For A Walk
Master, master
Let's go for a walk
We should just do it
And not just talk
Master, master
Let's go to the park
I can go run around
And at all the other puppers, bark
Master, master
It will be such fun
Just to get out in the air
And enjoy the sun
Master, master
Come on let's go
Time is a wasting
Please don't say no
Oh goodie, goodie
We are going out the door
Not that at home sometimes is bad
But outside I know that there is more
New things to smell
New sights to see
Hey I may even meet
Some other doggies
Oh there is a cute one
Come on master run
We got to catch her
Because I think that she is the one
Such cute brown eyes
And little wiggles in her tail
And wow, look at the ears
I wonder if she is avail?.able
She smells so good
From head to toe
I wonder if her master likes me
And let her with me go
We just run around
And frolic and play
Oh master
What a glorious day
Oh it is time to go home
I just hate it when down goes the sun
I got a breath of air, and new girlfriend
What else gives a pupper so much fun?
Master, master
Thank you for the day
I enjoyed it so much
That I just had to say
You're an awesome master
And I know that you love me
So thank you Master
That to you a servant, I choose to be.
4. Master, I Love You
I played all day
I chased many a ball
For my master I will do anything
For him I will give my all
I got the paper
I rubbed against his stinky feet
I carried the water hose when he washed the car
I even opened a package of meat
I lied on the couch beside him
And listened to him snore
I even gave up the covers
When in bed he wanted them more
I even barked
When someone knocked at the door
I even yelped
When the flowers hit the floor
I went swimming in the lake
To just chase the stick
I kept real close
When my master was sick
I don't really know
What else a pupper can do
To really tell his master
That I love you.
5. My First Bark
Whoa! I just made a sound
I hope no one was near
It sounds so funny
In my big floppy ear
It wasn't a shriek
It wasn't a howl
It sounded like a squeak
Or was it a growl
It's nothing like I ever heard
I hope I don't, do it again
Because I know that if I make that sound often
My master will put me in the pen
Oh no! Here it goes again
As I see another pupper walk by
Where is this coming from in me
I am so embarrassed I could die
Hey wait a minute
I heard someone say
Those puppers hark
Even when they play
Now I've got it
It is a hark
No, that is not it
I just learned to bark!
6. On a Hike
Oh it is nice
To go on
a hike
I just peed
On Billy's bike
Then there is the tire
On my master's Ford
I got to stay busy
Or I will get bored
I just made a little puddle
Don't you know that I have more?
I must mark my spot
Oh yeah, there's the kitchen door
I like fire hydrants
And then there is a tree
Oh there is a bush I missed
So I better pee
I can pee on a paper
Or on a rug
I can pee on the couch
Or if it would stay still, that little bug
People just don't know
What it is to be a pupper tike
Cause it is important
Our legs to hike
Sure is nice
To be a pupper free
Till I get caught
Then it is the doghouse for me.
7. The Guard Dog
I am a guard dog
I guard my master's house
Nothing can get past me
Well, except maybe a mouse
My ears are trained
To hear every sound
So I will know
When someone comes around
I will growl
When something is not right
So you better not show up
In the middle of the night
You will be sorry
If I go after you
Cause you better remember
That this dog likes to chew
You better believe
That if I catch even your toe
I will grab hold
And not let you go
You will want
To run in fear
For you will know
When I am near
You better know
That I'll be your biggest fright
When come around
My master's house at night!
You had best stay away
Unless you want to mess with me
For I am the guard dog
And I am very partial to a human knee.
8. The TV
I heard a noise
I wonder what it could be.
I know, I have heard
That a human has a TV
It's a funny looking box
With pictures in the middle
It makes many sounds
That sometimes will make humans giggle
It makes sounds
That puts tears in a human's eyes
It makes sounds
That really makes them to cry
It makes sounds
That makes them very mad
It makes sounds
That seems to make them glad
I am not sure why they need the thing
I'm just not sure that it is right
It is so much better when they play with me
Because so often when the TV is on, they fight
I think I'd like it better
If humans didn't have a TV
As then they could devote more time
To just have fun with me.
9. To Chew
What do you think
This puppy likes to do?
Hey man, it is obvious
I just love to chew
I like to chew on the rug
Or chew on some socks
I like to chew on a bone
Or Suzie's locks
I chew on a toy
That somehow squeaks
I chew on the afghan
Even though it's antique
I can chew on a shirt
Or on a dirty a rag
I can chew on a table leg
Or a paper bag
I must stay busy
So what's a pupper to do?
I must stay entertained
So what is better than to chew?
10. Tug-O-War
I start to bark
And roll on the floor
If am going to get my master's attention
I guess I must do something more
I'll run around
As fast as I can
I know what to do
I have a better plan
I'll go and pull his shoestring
He will then notice me
He will play tug-o-war
And so happy we will be
It doesn't matter
How hard that you pull
I will hold on
Cause I am like a bull
You can drag me across the room
And toss me to and fro
Because when I am determined
I will never let go
If I had false teeth
You would have a chance to win
But because these teeth are mine
You better think again
C'mon guys
Let's play tug-o-war
Besides isn't that what
A shoestring is really for?
