CHAPTER 22
Cole was heading south speeding down the road on his motorcycle. He had picked it up a few days before after working a couple of months on a deep sea fishing boat. It had been hard work but it kept him busy and more importantly gave him some much needed funds to help him get closer to Arlana. It was now 1986 and he was glad that at least they weren't in a place where he would have to worry about her getting burned at the stake. It had been lonely these last few months since he had arrived in this new space of time. He had first ended up in the Arctic Circle in Russia and had since found himself being pulled southward through Alaska, down the Canadian coast, and now approaching Washington. He was surrounded by breathtakingly beautiful scenery but instead of enjoying it he could only think about how he wished Arlana was there to share it with him, what would she say, what would she enjoy the most? He had become particularly lonely with no one to talk to, no one who would understand or even believe what he was going through. He had been driving steadily since he bought the motorcycle and had only stopped for gas or a quick bite to eat. It was now approaching morning and the light was just starting to show itself across the mountain peaks. He suddenly felt bone tired and decided that he would have to sleep, if only for a few hours before he continued on. He pulled off the main road and up to a shady looking cheap hotel, he didn't care, the cheaper the better he felt. He needed to make his money last. He vowed he would not leave this time without her.
