to account henceforth for

  what can be noted

when we are absent from the plea.

  Or should we first decide

  to answer the question

  even decide forthwith

if we will be involved with gun and club

in destroying precious lives of individuality

that can never be duplicated or replaced?

Should we stand down and turn aside

  from the wrath unmeasurable

of alliterating vanity and metaphoring pride?

Is it even possible for more than a few,

  to vacate unquestioned obligation

  and join the truth,

perhaps serve ahead or support some who do

and bring injustice and oppression to the bar

  of public view?

Or is all this but verbiage false

  because things unlimited

  also things unseen now

  can only be mirages of

  some future parametering?

Is it all unnecessary and wasteful

  to stretch beyond the moment

as some seem eager to do?

  Does Peace,

  simply put,

  have any place?

Or can it be equated as acceptance of space for all (cont'd)

with courtesy and honor as the daily means

of preventing another's public or private fall?

  Can Peace,

seemingly so wished and struggled for

be part of some plan but only for things new?

Can Peace avoid being barred by conquest,

  walled by indifference

  locked and gated by Self

  and all the eagerly accumulated

  place, position and endless wealth,

used to propagate hunger and anger,

  chaining and stealth?

Can Peace contain some hidden wonder

  some marvelous infinity

  a construct so vast?

Is Peace the answer and the path

to all the strain all generations suffer

because they miss the main? (cont'd)

  Is Peace the ever-sought completeness

  all reach for and collectively

in concert with all those before

  will someday greet,

as the so obvious and so common verity

we might yet meet every day

in this world yours and mine,

  when we pause to plan,

  stretch to see,

or decide, even for a moment,

  to ear ourselves into harmony,

and cause ourselves to telescope all things,

  momentarily, at least,

to bring ourselves close enough to greet,(cont'd)

  Full cadencing,

  Most Prime,

  Immovable and ever available,

  Peace,

  as equanimity complete?

  Finally,

If Peace is allowed to fully access our times

will it create a state sublime

wherein can reside all structured things

  in peaceful cacophony?

Will this newer sound, in itself a most pleasant chime

  then be gently carried

down all halls, through all lines,

by its own unique lyrics and cascading song.

To you and all the other waiting guests,

  so patient and shy

  who hear the sound,

  accept the demand

because, in truth, all are belled to acquiesce

  as set,

  since eternity first did spine?

  Will each of you, then,

  direct a moment’s full stop

as time to enjoy this sound

  of most sweet homophony

  and gently impose

a new rule of rest on ancient time

sufficient to complete a straightening of that line

  Then, then,

if but for a moment's space

will all things gently fold in grace,

  accept the moment's gentle repose

  and allow us all,

  time to breathe and hold.

  this fragile moment

that will be for each quivering mortal,

  sufficient time to choose, reach,

  and push the waiting switch

that will fill this world with a new light

  wherein will be seen;

Strife as but a fractured and broken thing.

Hate, that sublimation of envy and pride

as only a relic of primordial spleen (cont'd)

All the imagined losses and fancied gains

seen clearly as illusions of stricken brains.

Then, just a split chronome later,

will be seen and heard the far distant tide

as it lifts the sun, clears the sky,

tosses the drift into granite caves

cleanses the beach, with self-trumpeting praise

and causes all creatures to stand amazed.

  Then, then, this fragile moment,

now in each quivering mortal's life

will awaken, ease and set all things right

  beyond the bounds of consequentiality

until each will see or at least surmise

  the fully visible invisibility

and rush to meet and greet

this ever patient and waiting guest,

known before as an impossible impossibility

  but then known to each

  as living,

  reigning,

  Peace Evergreen!
