  I SAW YOU

I saw you in the sunset

on the first day of May

  I wondered where you’d been

  on such a sunny day

I saw you in the park

on a winter day so cold

  playing with your friends

  in the fresh fallen snow

I saw you in the woods

  walking down the trail

  playing with your dog

  as the light rain fell

I saw you in the ocean mist

  the waves came rolling in

They washed your feet so gently

  and rolled back out again

I saw you at the station

  you caught a westbound train

  The engine was too loud

  when I called your name

I think of you so often

  so much fun we had

  You, a charming damsel

  and I, a handsome lad.

  SUGAR

  Speak to me softly

  Speak to me oftly

  Speak to me slowly

  Speak to me only

  with those sugar lips!

  Let the honey drip!

  May the finest wine

  from the sweetest vine

  roll from those cherry lips!

  Let me have another sip!

  LOVE?

  If you love things

  more than yourself

  how will you ever

  love someone else?

  FIRE

  Play me a song

  Tell me a story

  Whisper in my ear,

  Hold me in your arms

  Brush my lips with yours

  Love me like you never

  loved before,

  May the day move slowly

  as we lay so closely...

  Flames of ecstasy igniting...

  LITTLE TORNADO

  A little tornado

  a stormy twister

  touched down on me...

  Her fiery passion

  swirling round and round

  kindles burning flames

  deep inside my heart...

  BONNIE

  Sparks of romance

  fell into my hands

Flames of fire in the night

Days are lighter, sun is brighter

Carry me home in your sweet arms

  Your beauty is shining,

  I feel your charm

Carry me home in your sweet arms

  Flames of fire

  in the night...

  SAIL

Sail with the speed of light

  across a moonlit night

  and settle down

  upon a blue green sea...

SHE SAID, “I THINK YOU WILL REMEMBER ME.”

  Arms around her

  bodies close

  Words are lost

  in a moment savored

  To love and be loved

  Deep desire in our soul

  Incomplete alone

  Satisfaction flees

  We run, we walk

  Sometimes we crawl

  Searching in the daylight

  and the dark of night

  Love hides

  just beyond our grasp

  We struggle on

  Looking, hoping, dreaming

  Thrust into a tailspin

  A puzzle incomplete

  A maze that never ends

  A rich dense forest

  Another day, another time

  Wanting the one

  that overwhelms our thirst

and sets our heart on fire

  Love softly calls

in the middle of the night

  Her echoes ring out

  across the empty walls...

  RAQUEL

  Raquel, one hundred percent female

  A pleasant, pleasing personality

  flowing like a soft, warm,

  summer breeze

  An exotic sunrise

  She shines bright

  lighting the darkness of night!

  Natural beauty, nicely maintained

  A modest manner

  not pushy or flaunting

  A sweetness welcomed

  by an often impersonal world

  begging for more

  Truly one of a kind

  Those Michigan girls

  sure
are fine!!

  GET UP

  Shake off the dust,

  Stand on your own

  two feet once more,

  Love like you ain’t

  never loved before!

  • To squeeze life ‘til it bleeds

  a beautiful melody.

  SUZY

  She must be a thinker

Her dreams pour down like rain

Her naked eyes can see the stars

  and venture on to Mars

  Her heart beats pure passion

  Life lived not denied

  Yet ever with discretion

  Mindful of each step

  Limits of the mind undefined

  Reaching past the distance...

  The faraway horizon

but a landmark along the playground

of the vastness laying before her...

  without

  end...

  THE DAY

  To call upon the day

  and hear it say,

  “Enter without peril,

  play without price,

  walk and never stumble.”

  • If nothing held you back, how far

  would you go?

  NO ROAD THERE

To step outside of space and time

  untouched, unmolested by the movements

  of the world around you...

Not pulled up or dragged down,

  reality suspended...

  A world within the world

  unfazed by the daily grind

of negative energy that surrounds you

From the cradle to the grave

  you escape to a place

  that cannot be worked up

  but can be fed...

  There you are

  without effort or dread...

  unexplainably pleasant...

  SANDRA

  The halls grew dim,

  The sun refused to shine,

  and the moon no longer

  lights the night

  since you’ve been gone...

  • You cannot see with the eye alone...

You must look with the heart and soul.*

  THOUGHTS

  Thoughts are sown

in a garden by the grove

  where the campfire glows

  Stories are told

  concerning those

  who fit no mold

  Flames move and flow

  soft guitar sounds roll

  as a blues harp blows

  A gentle soul

  who no one knows

  sits in quiet repose

  People come and go

  every hour or so

  in a place where

  moss never grows...

  WHO CAN?

  Who can say

  what’s never been said?

  Who can draw

  what’s never been drawn?

  Who can sing

  what’s never been sung?

  Who can do

  what’s never been done?

  • Enjoy the ride...

  HUSH

  Let the quiet find

  a place in your mind

  Pay no attention to time...

  let it pass on by

  Silence moves in slow

  rocking the stillness

  of your soul

  let it flow...

  Let space and time

  roll on by

  like clouds waltzing

  through the sky

Hear the birds chirp in the trees

a lush meadow by a spring

  softly flowing, hear it sing...

  Laying in the grass

  by the trickling stream

  dreaming the sweetest dream...

  Once you begin

  to let it soak in

  the calmness soothes your soul

  with a soft caressing hold...

  • When we laugh we should laugh twice

as hard for those who never laugh.

  SWEET MEMORIES

My pickup truck squeaked and groaned

  down that bumpy road

  riding through the country

  looking for my home

  Clouds of dust behind me,

  narrow roads ahead

  sweet, sweet memories

  flowing through my head

I sing about the old days

as if they were brand new

  my mind never wanders

  very far from you

  As you made my breakfast

  in that blue, cotton gown

I knew you were the best thing

  I had ever found

  As you spoke to me

from the bottom of your heart

  I prayed a little prayer

  that we would never part

  Now I think
