Will now had the Book of the Underground and was soon out of the treeline and back on the road where Greg’s Camaro was parked only about ten feet away. Lauren’s scream was heard again from behind.

“I am so sorry, Lauren,” apologized Will aloud, as if she could hear him. He then quickly decided the idea that he would check Greg’s car and see if by any chance the keys were still left in the car.

He stepped up to the driver’s door and opened it. He tossed the book in the backseat and got in. The keys were luckily still in the ignition. But there was still a problem... in the passenger seat was Greg, now part of Joe’s undead army.

Greg’s evil eyes with slit-like pupils stared at Will as he got in the car, and he growled, his little horns risen up from his head. Will screamed.

  “Help!”

Greg grabbed him by his shirt collar and pulled him towards him.

  “Lauren!” cried Will.

A second later Lauren was standing outside of the passenger door. She quickly opened it and swung at the evil Greg three or four times with a giant stick, the one she had tripped over in the tree line.

Greg was knocked out, his head passed out against Will’s chest, and with that Will got back out of the car.

  “Is he dead?” questioned Lauren.

“I don’t think we should wait and find out, we don’t have time for this!” replied Will. “What is he?”

“I don’t know, but I’m not touching it,” replied Lauren.

“Well we’ve got to do something about it now!”

Will and Lauren realized that the group of undead from the cemetery were making their way towards the car now.

  “Okay!” screamed Lauren.

“Alright, grab his legs, I’ll help you pull him out of the car!” ordered Will.

  “What?!”

Will went over to Lauren’s side. “Help me pull him out!”

The undead were getting closer to the car. “Come on!” ordered Will again. “Ready...one, two, three!”

On three Lauren helped Will pull Greg’s mutated body out of the car and onto the road.

“Alright, let’s go!” ordered Will. He then leaped over the passenger seat and into the driver’s seat.

He shut the door. The keys were already in the ignition. He started the car and heavy rock music started blaring through the speakers.

Lauren got in the car and shut the passenger side door.

The undead were literally a few feet away from the car now... and the car was off!

Will put the clutch into first gear and picked up speed, and soon they were a good mile down the road. “Woo-hoo!” he exclaimed, relieved. “You zombies can’t get us now!”

Lauren was breathing heavily, as if having a panic attack.

“Lauren, you sure showed that loser,” said Will as he continued to drive down the road.

“Will, I need you to pull over again, please, I think I need to throw up again,” whined Lauren.

In respect for her saving his life, Will pulled over to the side of the road, and she threw up one last time.

Before they took off again, Will thought he smelled something coming from the back of the car. “You smell that?”

“Smell what?” questioned Lauren. “Did I get any on my shirt?” She checked herself for puke stains.

“Hmm, maybe that’s what I’m smelling.”

Will then remembered that he had managed to retrieve the Book of the Underground. “Hey, reach into the back seat, will you, and grab me the book,” he ordered.

Lauren reached into the back seat and grabbed the Book of the Underground. “You know, Will, I’m so sorry I didn’t believe you. I didn’t think you were crazy.”

  “Sure you didn’t.”

“What do you want to do with this then?” she asked, staring down at the Book of the Underground, now in her hands.

“Hold on to it with your life until we get back to the party. We need to warn everyone.”

  “Okay.”

“We need to find someone who knows about the kinda stuff in that book,” suggested Will. “It’s our only hope of getting Charlie back. Either that or we try on our own...but I think I know someone who can help us.”

He had just remembered about Starr back at the party. The goth girl. “We need to get back to your house.”

“Wait...what about my car?!” Lauren just remembered.

“To hell with your car,” he replied. He then sped up on the gas in Greg’s car and they were on their way back to the party.
