for he was an angry young man with a new quest, a quest to take control of his destiny. . .
“Oh, no you don’t! You are not ending the story.”
You can’t tell me what to do. I’m the Author for God’s sake!
I had my fingers on the keyboard ready to type the six little letters that would end this entire literary mess, when Bill suddenly jumped up and grabbed the LJFOSA.
“I’m going to warn them! Watch it, lady. Anytime you write a story from now on, know that I will be there. My eyes are open and you cannot stop me!”
He opened the book and began to write feverishly. He wasn’t entirely correct. I could have stopped him. But I didn’t. I’d gained too much respect for his pluck. And I had really used them all rather terribly for the sake of the project. Oh, I fully intended to stop him from destroying the other stories, no matter what it took, but if he could break into other stories, I commend him. So he wrote and then there was no longer a character called Bill in this story.
So, I went back to Greg, who at this time was reading comic books in his room. As the characters did something particularly funny he threw his head back and laughed and I stopped things there.
