  Chapter Twenty-Seven - Zombies? Really?

Sunday, the 1st of February, Clem got inside CJ’s head, after some protesting from Hugo, and she turned into lightning and jumped into the floor. They had an idea of where The Lazarus group was based on the Agency database, but without Maggie it was up to CJ to locate them. Luckily she was very very fast. She raced to Johannesburg.

As much as he didn’t like the idea, Hugo and Crysta stayed behind to develop and produce the new inhibitor. Before they started however, Crysta contacted Charles.

“Hi Charles, this is Dr. McFadden.” She paused for a moment, and then shook her head, “No, I haven’t reconsidered, but I wanted to talk to you about what happened in Moscow on Friday.” She sighed, “Yes, I know I was there. And yes I understand I’m only a doctor, but that’s not what I wanted to talk to you about. We’re offering you our help.” Crysta sighed again, “Yes you do. And when you need us, we’ll be there. But we can’t monitor you, so just give us a call.” Another sigh, “Please Charles, do not let pride kill you. We want to help. What Boris’ father is doing is wrong.” She nodded, smiling, “Good, but don’t wait until you can’t handle it. Goodbye Charles,” and then she hung up. She looked to Hugo, her smile growing, “Well, that’s taken care of, let’s get to work.”

Several hours later he got a call from CJ. “Hey, we found Lucas, the machine guy. He would probably have lots of information right? Anyway, Clem can’t read his mind with the armband thingy so we’re gonna try and swipe it. It’ll be a while, and I’m not gonna be able to call you, so behave!”

Hugo’s hand tightened on the phone, “CJ, please be careful.”

“Will do, boss! See ya!” And then she hung up.

They got the call from Charles Monday night. It was the zombies that did it.
