  Dedicated to Jenna

Yep, you didn’t read that wrong.

I’m dedicating this book to you, my twinnie! We always made jokes about how I named Jenna after you, it was pure and complete coincidence, but I knew – knew from the VERY second that your amazing butt came into my life that this would be dedicated to you. She’s the fiercest, most powerful, bad ass bitch I’ve ever written. So, basically, she’s just like you! ????

I will always continue to say that I don’t know what I’d do without you, and I don’t have a damn clue. I sure as hell wouldn’t be able to do half of the things I do. When you came into my life I didn’t just gain an assistant, I gained a friend for life. Love you!

Love will fuck you up more than drugs ever will -Anonymous

  Jenna

I can’t believe I’m here, staring into the restraining gates of the state prison. It feels like a dream; as if Kyle never had charges pressed against him. I keep reminding myself that it’s no dream. Kyle Michaels is very much in jail. I don’t believe for a damn minute that he did what they said he did. My opinion doesn’t matter much, though.

I’ve known him since I was a kid. I grew up with the man. He wouldn’t know that. He knew me when I turned eighteen. At least he knew Jenna at eighteen. Tegan, now, she’s known the fucker since he was a kid.

  Tegan isn’t here anymore, though.

I just know one thing for sure, Kyle is not his father. He is not Will Michaels. He is not capable of this type of horror. I keep having to remind myself of that, even knowing that he sits behind those bars in that awful outfit that reads ‘inmate’.

I get out of my Dodge Charger, clad in my deemed ‘biker whore’ attire and walk to the front gates. They stare at the way my black latex leggings hug every curve of my ass, how low my Guns N’ Roses shirt is exposing my breasts. Hell, they even stare at my perfectly wind-blown hair and my impeccable makeup.

Everyone stares, and I want them to. I’m not someone to go unnoticed. I don’t want to be ignored. I want to be seen. Everyone sees me, but, then again, they don’t.

How’s that for a mind fuck? Pretty smart if you ask me.

They see Jenna. Who they don’t see, is Tegan. And that’s the plan. That is what will get everyone that hurt me and my father killed. I have two names on my list; two names that will pay for everything they’ve done. I’m just waiting, and I’ll wait forever if I have to.

I’ve waited this long, after all.

“Ma’am?” I look up to the woman who is speaking to me, forgetting why I even came here in the first place. I listen to her after she rattles off the list of directions I need to follow. She lets me in and tells me to walk straight, that I’ll find a man named Bowie at
the door, and he’ll get me processed so I can see inmate AX938. Otherwise known as Kyle Michaels.

I walk straight until I find that man named Bowie. He looks like he popped straight off a Merry Christmas card. I swear, if he asks me if I’ve been naughty or nice, I might sling one straight into his jolly old face.

“AX938?” He asks to me, eyebrows furrowed. I nod at him. He grabs a black device and scans it over my body. It beeps just as he goes past my pussy, and I know exactly why.

“I’ve got a piercing… down there,” I add, trying not to laugh at how immature I sound.

He gives me a look while he pats me down very slowly. Too slowly for my own comfort. I can’t say I blame the old man. He probably hasn’t touched anything this tight and pretty in a long, long time.

“Need your cell, personal belongings, any metal.” I don’t hesitate. I take off my earrings and necklace, sliding them into my purse. I power my phone off and also place it into my purse, and then hand it to the old man. He goes into a room and slides a window open, handing me a visitor badge and writing AX938 on the white portion. “This badge is your lifeline. You lose it, you’re fucked. You keep hold of that darlin’.” I listen to the old man but don’t mutter a word. I just nod at him, so he understands that I heard him.

He punches a few numbers into a phone. I hear a loud buzzing and see the door to the right slide open. A tall, bulky man comes through the doorway.

“This here must be Jenna.” I blink a few times at him before he chuckles.

“Kyle told us the hottest girl in his entire club would be comin’ on over to see his ass. Didn’t believe ‘im. Now that you’re here, I’ll say I’m fuckin’ shocked. Thought the fucker was lyin’. Turns out he was tellin’ nothin’ but the damn truth.” He whistles at the last bit, ogling over my body like many men at the club do. I’m used to it. It doesn’t mean I like it.

“You gonna keep staring at me like I’m dessert, or are you gonna take me back to see Kyle?” I growl out at him. He smiles a wolfish grin and waves me on over.

It’s only a few minutes of waiting in what I think is a shared area before I see a guard walking him over. The couples around us glance to me and then to him. They’ve either heard of what he’s accused of or maybe they’re shocked that someone came to visit him, a woman no less.

“Hey there, babydoll,” he chuckles as the guard lowers him onto the seat, cuffing his hands to a metal bar in the middle of the table. I immediately put my hands over his. It feels nice to touch him, to know he’s okay.

“Ma’am!” The guard that cuffed Kyle to the table is yelling at me. I don’t know what I might’ve looked like. I just felt the shake overtake my body. “Ma’am…no touching, please,” he says softly, and I nod.

  This isn’t easy.

None of this is easy. It’s not easy seeing my best friend locked up behind bars for something that I know the fucker didn’t do. Sure, Kyle isn’t a saint. But he isn’t this monster that everyone’s making him out to be. I know monsters. I am a monster. Kyle is far from it. Sure, he’s done some fucked up shit. He’s made mistakes. But haven’t we all?

He didn’t kill that damn girl.

  He didn’t do that.

  “Jen?”

“Yep?” I say. I look at him, and he looks sad. I just want to hug the big idiot and tell him everything will be okay, even if I’m not sure that it will.

  “It’s getting worse.”

“You don’t know that. You haven’t even talked to your lawyer. You just sit around here in that damn cell, and just – “

  “Stop,” he growls at me.

“Fuck you. I’m not going to stop when you aren’t doing a damn thing to get yourself out of this mess!” I seethe, trying to remain as calm as I possibly can. He’s refused to see his counsel, numerous times, in fact. I still can’t understand why on Earth he’d do that. His lawyer is going to get him out of this damn mess. He needs to meet with him.

Just as I’m about to finish my ranting Kyle speaks, saying something I wish I never heard. “I made a deal.”

I glare. I mean it. I glare at him. I’ve glared at him like he’s just slapped me in the face. “W-what did you just say?”

“I made a deal,” he repeats, the sorrow in his voice evident. I know he didn’t do this. He knows he didn’t do this.

“W-why would you do that?!” I scream at him. Everyone in the room turns around to us. I don’t think. I’m just reacting to what he’s telling me.

“If I took the deal, I’d be out in ten years. If I didn’t….I could go for twenty, hell, they might even try to give me the death penalty. I took the deal. I’ll take the ten years. The evidence was stackin’ up against me, babydoll. I couldn’t just…” he pauses for a moment and takes a deep breath before meeting his eyes with mine. “I have a lot of shit to live for. You hear?”

I nod at him, not able to say a word. I feel the tears sliding out from the corners of my eyelids.

“You know I didn’t do it. What I don’t need is Reed worrying about me getting twenty to life, or fuckin’ euthanized like a sick dog. I need him to focus on the damn club. Our fuckin’ family. And if ya happen to figure out how I managed to get into this fuckin’ situation while you’re at it, then great. I expect you to. I expect everyone to dig deep and find out what happened that night ‘cuz you know, and I know, that I didn’t kill that girl…..she wasn’t that bad of a lay.” He smiles at the last bit, and I burst out into laughter. Leave it to Kyle Michaels to make the worst jokes at the worst possible times.

“Stop cryin’ over me, you dumb girl,” he mutters, rolling his eyes.

“Stop? No one else will cry over your stubborn ass,” I grumble, and he grins at that one. Even I let out a small smile.

“You’ve got a point. Fill me in, what’s goin’ down at the club?”

I spend the next twenty minutes telling Kyle everything that’s happened; even Daisy finding out that she’s having a little boy.

He smiles and nods. I can tell that he’s still hurting. Daisy was the love of his life, and he made the biggest mistake imaginable when he left her like he did. Granted, he went after the men that hurt her, but it wasn’t an excuse. He abandoned her. He left her to deal with the aftermath of everything that happened and while Daisy survived it, it came with a price.

I tell him about Elena and Reed bickering over the stupidest things, that last week she snapped at him in front of everyone because he didn’t put his damn boxers in the hamper. She’s always been a firecracker, but a new side to Elena is popping out, and everyone’s finding it hysterical. Hell, it’s pretty entertaining.

“Enzo make a move on you yet?” Kyle asks, waggling his eyebrows at me.

“No,” I laugh, rolling my eyes at him.

“Hmm. Then Dmitri better work fast.”

“Dmitri? How did Dmitri even get into this conversation?” I think everyone knew Enzo had a little crush on me. He’s my closest friend besides Kyle. He’d never be anything more to me and deep down I think he knows that. Enzo’s crush on me was nothing more than a kid crush in elementary school.

“Is that a joke? The man watches you.”

  “He watches everyone,” I argue.

“He doesn’t watch you the way he watches everyone else, Jen. I’ve got two eyes, and I think I can see well. Doc says I’ve got 20/20.”

  “Doc, or Quack?”

“Dunno. Don’t care. Say, are you sleeping in his bed yet?” I roll my eyes at Kyle’s question. Yeah. I’ve been sleeping with Dmitri for a while. A lot of the girls have been doubling up with the guys. It’s not for sex – it’s because of the last shipment of girls that came in. We took in more than we could handle, and until the cabins are finished, we’re sharing. It just so happens that Dmitri and I are sharing.

Kyle laughs at me. “I fuckin’ knew it.”

“He doesn’t want me,” I tell Kyle. The man doesn’t. He hasn’t made a fucking move. I really wish he had, but he hasn’t. Inside, I know that he doesn’t wa
nt me in the way that I want to be wanted. The only thing men want me from is to please them and then roll my ass outta their bed and back into my own. Me? I want more than that.

“Babydoll, you’re not an idiot. Every man that sees you wants you. You’re impossible not to want. Damn, look at you. You’re a biker version of Barbie with jet black hair. That quiet Russian wants you, and that man won’t ask. He’ll fuckin’ take you.”

“No man takes me, Kyle. I make the decisions.”

“Yeah, until Dmitri makes them for you.” I look at him, and I can’t come up with anything smart to say. Maybe, in some part of my mind, I fear that. Maybe, in another part of my mind, I want Dmitri to do that. Either way, it’s a risk. I don’t make risky decisions. I’ve got one purpose, one damn job, and I’m going to finish it.

  Dmitri

I wake up to a strong scent, it reminds me of vanilla mixed with something sweet. I inhale, rolling over on my bed and my body presses against something hard. I immediately open my eyes and see Jenna sprawled out next to me. I’m still not used to this, to her being in my bed every night. As I’m focusing on her body so close to mine, I remember exactly what this sweet scent is.

  Lavender.

  Vanilla and Lavender.

How could I forget that she wears it? Every night she puts lavender on her wrists and rubs them together, telling me that it helps her sleep better. I used to hate this smell, told her it stunk and to not put it on her wrists or else she wouldn’t have a bed to sleep in. She laughed at me and told me she would be using it and that she knew I’d become accustomed to it. I have, and I can say that she sleeps like a baby. I don’t get a stir out of her when she puts that oil on her wrists. The vanilla is her shampoo, and for some reason, I love the scent of it first thing in the morning.

I love the smell of her in the morning.

We’ve been bunking together since the cabins still aren’t done for all of the girls that came in on the shipment few weeks ago. We purchase women from sex traffickers. I only recently discovered that the reason we’re buying these women is because the club is working with the FBI to nail down these criminals. The Prez’s wife, and my adoptive-sister, Elena, is an undercover agent. I doubt we can call her that anymore, though.
