  “Beg For It”

  Jett

“A Mr. Black to see you,” Jeremy said, as he stepped inside my office.

“Please show him in,” I replied, as I got up to grab two glasses of bourbon for myself and Zane.

Last night, Zane let me know that everything had gone according to our plan, and set up a time to discuss the details with me today. I couldn’t be more eager about gathering the information from Zane, not just because I would be able to finally lock up the feud between myself, Rex, and my dad, but because it meant I would be able to take my Little One back. At least, I hoped she would want to come back.

I was still very sour about the whole situation, and I hated that she showed up with Rex, actually despised the whole notion of her being on his arm. After I got a light taste of her last night, it only made me crave her more. It was a slice of heaven that wasn’t guaranteed, which made me realize, even though she was with me in that moment, it didn’t mean she really wanted to be with me.

Goldie leaving me wouldn’t be the first time a woman had left me for Rex. The thought made me sick to my stomach. I wanted to convince myself she wanted to be with me and she wanted nothing to do with, Rex but there was always that nagging thought in the back of my mind that brought me back to the day Natasha left. It happened once; it sure as hell could happen again.

The door to my office opened and Zane Black walked in, wearing a black suit with a white button-up shirt that was undone at the top. The man exuded confidence, but wasn’t too cocky about it, something I respected about him.

“Z, it’s nice to see you,” I greeted, while handing him a glass of my favorite bourbon.

“Jett, always a pleasure,” he tilted the glass toward me and took a sip.

  “Please, sit down.”

We both sat down in the seating area of my office, offering a more relaxed environment.

“I sent you an email with all the data and evidence I was able to collect,” Zane started off. “Have you received it?”

“I have, but haven’t had a chance to look at it quite yet. I thought I would allow you to tell me everything. I plan on sending it off to my detective friend and giving him a call once we finish our meeting.”

“I’m sure your friend will be excited. You were right about the phone, Rex collected it right before I walked through the doors. The man knows he’s conducting illegal business and is doing everything in his power to make sure he’s not caught.”

“Did the watch work out alright?” I asked.

“Perfectly. I was able to record everything Rex said and take some pictures. Some of the things on there are a bit graphic because, I’ll be honest, what Rex has going on in there is rather indecent. I won’t go too far into it, but the main reason he is able to keep staff on board is because he’s blackmailing them all. The employees look depressed, lifeless actually.”

Thoughts of Goldie ran through my mind, and I wondered if she was one of the ones Zane saw. She and Rex were late to the event last night, so it did cross my mind that Zane might have seen Goldie, but I refused to ask; I didn’t want to drag Zane into that aspect of my life.

“That’s sad,” I responded, feeling sorry for the girls who were stuck under Rex’s grasp.

“I wasn’t able to get any proof of the quote unquote contracts Rex had his employees sign, but I’m sure your detective will be able to find them. Even though those girls are selling their bodies to the men in that club, they clearly don’t want to be there, you could see it in their eyes.”

Was Goldie one of the girls he was talking about? The curiosity was starting to burn a hole in my soul. I couldn’t stand to think of Goldie exposing herself to such men, letting them touch her.

“Are you alright?” Zane asked, as he tried to gather my attention.

Clearing my head, I nodded. “Long night last night. Do you believe you got enough material to take them down?”

“I do,” Zane responded. “I recorded Rex talking about the club; no doubt will they be able to put him away for this.”

The thought of Rex and my father in jail brought a smile to my face. That was exactly where they belonged, and thanks to my connections in the city, I would be damned if they got away with anything less than jail time.

“Well, I can’t tell you how appreciative I am to you for you going in there for me and gathering evidence.”

“Hey, it was kind of fun,” he laughed. “Plus, I would have sold my soul for the Expressway. I can’t tell you what this will do for my business.”

“I’m glad I could help, which reminds me.” I stood up and walked over to my desk, where I had put together an envelope for Zane. I handed it over to him and said, “Inside is the deed to the Expressway, as well as blueprints, layout, and zoning restrictions. Plus, I added some of the contacts I know around the city for you to help get around some of the restrictions, as well as construction companies who would be more than willing to work for you. They all know we are friends, so they should be a pleasure to work with.”

“Wow, thank you,” Zane said, while looking down at the envelope. “Lot 17 really means a lot to you, doesn’t it?”

More than he would ever know.

“It’s an opportunity for me to give something back to the community, which needs it. This city has been through hell and back, and if I can help it out in any way, help the children of this city have a better life, then I will do it.”

“That’s very honorable of you. You’re not the man I thought you were. I’m glad we were able to work together.”

  “Me too,” I agreed.

“I hope, in the future, you’ll come up to my speedway and indulge a little.”

“I would enjoy that,” I said, as Zane got up from his chair and headed toward the door. I grabbed his cup from him and put it on the buffet that held my bourbon.

“Who knows? Maybe you’ll start your own racing team for my Speedway; just remember, no one beats Black Top Racing,” Zane said with a wink.

  “Wouldn’t dream of even trying.”

We shook hands and I guided Zane out the front door of the Lafayette Club. Once again, we thanked each other and made future promises to visit each other. Zane would be spending some time in New Orleans because of the Expressway, so I reminded him to call me when he was in town; I would be more than delighted to show him around the city that made me the man I was today.

The minute Zane was gone, I sent a text message to my detective and let him know I would be sending over the write-up Zane put together about Masquerade, as well as all the evidence he was able to gather.

I was in my office, sending out the information when Kace knocked on my door. I looked up to see he was looking somewhat distraught.

“What’s wrong?” I asked, while looking away at my computer, making sure I had everything in place.

“Lyla is driving me fucking insane,” Kace responded, while slouching on my chair. “That girl has more of a mouth than Goldie, and she’s impossible to shut down.”

“You chose her,” I said, while finishing up, ignoring the pang of hurt that ran through my veins at the mention of Goldie’s name.

“I thought I was doing us a favor, trying to find Goldie. She had some great ideas, but fuck, now she’s just annoying the crap out of me.”

“It was never your concern to find Goldie.”

“What’s crawled up your ass?” Kace asked, while slouching in his chair. “I thought you saw her last night.”

“I did; she was with Rex.”

  “That doesn’t mean anything.”

“How do you know?” I asked, getting angrier by the second.

“Because, she told me…” Kace trailed off, knowing he’d divulged some information he wasn’t supposed to.

“What are you talking about?” I asked, anger lacing my voice.

Clearing his throat, Kace shifted in his seat before looking me in the eyes. “I went to go see her one night; I wanted to make sure she was okay.”

>   “That is not your place,” I yelled, while slapping my desk. “I told you to stay the fuck out of it.”

“Someone had to do something!” Kace yelled back.

“I had it under control. I have it under fucking control!”

“You might now, but you didn’t then. I needed to make sure she was okay. Fuck, Jett, she set out to save your pathetic ass. Who knew what she was getting herself into? But that doesn’t matter; what matters is that she told me she wanted nothing to do with Rex. She only wants you, Jett. She was devastated to know you were hurting.”

“Why would you tell her that?” I asked, feeling rage pouring out of my body. “You had no right to tell her any of that.”

“Why is it so hard for you to show someone your feelings?”

“Pot calling the kettle black there, Kace.”

“Don’t, don’t fucking compare me to you. I’ve lived my life. I fucked it up. I have no need to show feelings. I’m an emotionless man walking through the phases of life until my day comes. We both know that, but you’re different. You have your life in front of you, but you refuse to let anyone in your fucking world.”

“I was raised not to show feelings,” I shot back. “Showing feelings is showing weakness. The moment I showed any kind of emotion, everything was taken away from me, Natasha was taken from me…”

“You didn’t even love her,” Kace cut in.

“That’s beside the point. I don’t let anyone in. I didn’t until Goldie came along, and do you know what fucking happened? She ripped me apart. The moment I let her in, the moment I dropped the walls erected around my heart, she broke me. She fucking broke me,” I trailed off.

  “Not on purpose,” Kace defended.

“I don’t want to hear it,” I held up my hand.

“She wants nothing to do with him,” Kace pushed on, just as my phone signaled an incoming text.

Expecting a message from my detective friend, I looked down at my phone to see a text from Rex. I pulled it open to see a picture of a naked woman with the same honey colored hair that had run through my fingertips on more than one occasion, mounted on him. My chest restricted, my breathing became shortened, and my legs started to go numb. I read the text that came along with the message.

Rex Titan: Just like I remembered. Goldie has by far the sweetest pussy I’ve ever had the chance to fuck. Thank you for fucking up, because not only do I have the girl, but I will also have Lot 17. The best man always wins.

Swallowing hard, I turned the phone to Kace and held it up so he could see it.

“You can’t tell me she wants nothing to do with Rex when this is proof that she went back to him. Tell me that isn’t her.”

Kace looked at the picture as he started to chew on his bottom lip. He was silent. He knew I was right; there was no mistaking that was Goldie in the picture.

“That’s what I thought,” I said while closing out on the text message, just as my phone rang.

  Detective Brown.

Taking a deep breath and trying to will my thundering heart to slow down, I answered.

  “Jett Colby.”

“Mr. Colby, I received your email. I was able to briefly go over it, but we have enough material to go in tonight. I know you have some restrictions about some of the employees; do those still stand?”

He was asking if I still wanted to give Goldie immunity. At the moment, I didn’t care what happened to her, not after the blatant betrayal I was just privy to.

“No, do what you need to do. Will you call me after you get everything settled tonight?”

“Will do, Mr. Colby. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We will be sure to honor you for keeping this city clean.”

Not wanting to keep up with the pleasantries, I thanked him and got off the phone.

“What was that about?” Kace asked.

“Taking care of things. Lot 17 will be mine tomorrow morning. Rex and Leo will be in jail, and their club will be shut down.”

  “What about Lo?”

Staring at my computer, trying to act like I wasn’t affected by his question, I just shrugged my shoulders.

“Don’t know. Most likely she will be taken to jail as well for working at the club.”

“You can’t let that happen,” Kace said, outraged.

“I can,” I responded quietly, while turning away from him in my chair, dismissing Kace from my room.

  “She loves you, Jett.”

“If she loved me, then she would never have taken the control out of my hands. She left me helpless and turned to Rex, something I will never forgive her for.”

  “I Don’t Mind”

  Goldie

I was quivering from my fucking hair follicles to my lady folds to my damn toenails. I liked to believe I was some strong confident woman with the ability to go all secret agent on someone’s ass, but when it came down to it, I was more nervous than a teenage boy sitting next to a porn star.

Both Rex and Leo were in attendance tonight, shaking hands with members and enjoying the perks of the club. Rex continuously kept his eye on Mercy, which made me believe that maybe, just maybe, we would be able to pull off the phone grab. The only problem was, we had to distract Leo, so he didn’t see me grab the phone. The other problem was, I had no place really to stuff it, since I was wearing the outfit of a German milkmaid. Not my choice, by any means; the outfit came from the oh-so-cliché mind of Rex Titan. The man needed to expand a little on his fantasies, because they were as stale as the pantaloons hanging on his wall.

The girls’ show was over and Blane was getting ready to do his demonstration, but there was a period of time we had between the demonstration and now, a small time frame where we could possibly grab Rex’s phone.

Two of the members spoke quietly to Rex, and I could see him eyeing me with an evil thought in his mind. He was going to make me do something; I just knew it. From the sinister look he was giving me, I knew I was going to be called on.

Sweat trickled down my back as I thought about what was going to happen. What was the worst that could happen? I’d have to give a man a handy; that wasn’t a big deal.

“You ready for this?” Blane asked from behind me.

Startled, I didn’t turn around as I answered, “You can’t talk to me right now.”

“Don’t worry about it, Rex knows I have to communicate with you about the girls occasionally.”

“What’s happening right now? Are we going to have time?”

“We have to do it now, because after the demonstration, the members will disperse, and Rex usually takes off after that. It’s now or never, sweet cheeks.”

“Fuck,” I mumbled, as I felt my hands start to get sweaty.

Taking a deep breath, I grabbed Mercy and walked casually over to Rex, who was still talking to two of the members. I wasn’t sure if I was allowed to talk to Rex while he was with the members, but I didn’t care, I had to take charge and get this done.

“Hello, fellas,” I said with a bright tone.

Rex sneered at me, pretty sure I saw his lip quiver. While Rex was giving me the evil eye, the other two members looked Mercy up and down with appreciation in their eyes. Even in my ridiculous outfit, I was still getting eye fucked; I couldn’t imagine what it felt like to be Mercy, completely naked in front of all these people.

“Goldie, must I remind you not to interrupt the members’ conversations?”

Batting my eyelashes, I pulled Mercy forward and said, “Mercy and I have a surprise for you.”

This morning, I approached Mercy about surprising Rex with a lap dance. Of course, she was more than happy to participate. I showed her everything she needed to know in order to make a man forget his name during a lap dance. It wasn’t hard, especially if the girl was naked. A little bend here and a little touch there with a perfect hip swivel and the man would be putty in your hands.

“A surprise?” he asked, while eyeing Mercy up and down. I nodded my head, hoping Mercy would pull
him away from his conversation. “Just as well, these two fine gentlemen were just about to go back with Bizzy and Eva. Blane,” Rex called Blane over.

Confidence exuded from Blane as he strolled over to Rex’s call, whipping a towel over his shoulder and placing his hands on his hips.

“How can I help you?” Blane asked, not portraying the domineering man I had come to know in the short amount of time I’d known him. He was different around Rex, and it was probably because Rex had Blane by the balls.

“Please set up Eva and Bizzy in the back; these two gentlemen would like to have some fun.”

The way Rex spoke made my vagina want to crawl inside itself. How was I ever attracted to this man, this creepy, manipulating man? It made me shiver just from the thought of being with him. I must have been pretty damn desperate for money, that and I guess I never really knew who Rex was until I moved in with him…well, temporarily took up residence in his house.

“Not a problem,” Blane answered, as he took off toward the room, calling Bizzy and Eva with him.

There was always intermission when it came to the events of the night. Rex allowed for members to take some of the girls to the playrooms, that way other members could take them back after the demonstration. It grossed me out, sickened me, to know these girls were being used like this, and I would be damned if Rex got away with it for much longer. This club was coming to an end tonight.

“Now, what’s this surprise?” Rex asked, while rubbing his hands together and sizing up Mercy and me.

Strapping on my lady balls, I smiled brightly and said, “Come, sit down for us.”

Holding in my revulsion, I grabbed Rex by the hand and guided him to a chair that would allow me access to his pockets from behind, it was the first step I had to complete in order to make this happen. Luckily, Rex let us lead him.
