When I had told him that no man had ever been in that tight part of my body, he lost it. I would have laughed under normal circumstances but the animalistic growl that left him turned me on even more.

Throughout the evening before, my phone had rang, knocks sounded on the door, but I ignored everyone. Coby didn’t leave my side until sometime during the night from what I could tell.

Rising from the bed, I savored the aches and pains from being used hard and fast the night before. I threw on sweat pants, a sports bra, and a tank top before heading out of the room to get some much-needed coffee.

The delicious scent of coffee beans permeated through the air. Who was up this early already?

Shrugging it off, I headed to the bar, poured myself a mug and went to walk to one of the booths in the far corner of the club when I saw Coby sitting there.

“What are you doing here so early?” I asked, sitting beside him.

He wrapped a hand around my inner thigh and kissed my head. “I never left.”

  “You didn’t?”

“No.” He pulled me against him and placed a soft peck on my neck. He shivered, his tense body relaxing after that small touch.

“What are you working on?” I asked, ignoring the flutter in my belly and nodded toward the laptop he was typing away on.

“I found some articles about that woman who attacked Jay. Angel asked me a couple days ago to do some more research on it.”

“What did you find?” I placed the mug on the table and curled against him.

“She’s everywhere.” Coby clicked link after link, scrolling through hundreds of articles. “There’s never any mention of her name. No one knows who she is or what she wants. Or even where she’s from. I’ve contacted an old friend to see if he can dig something up on her.”

The woman was beautiful. Long dark hair. Alabaster skin. Perfect complexion. And she looked to be tall as well. Everything that I was not. It made me wonder what kind of women Coby was usually into before he started sleeping with me. A sudden hint of jealousy twisted at my gut. Get a grip, Brogan.

  “She’s beautiful,” I pointed out.

  Coby grunted. “Sure.”

“You don’t think so?” I sat up straighter, hooking my arm around his.

“What are you getting at, Brogan?” He frowned, his gaze searching my face.

I huffed, chewing my bottom lip. “I have no idea.”

He chuckled. “You’re jealous and I haven’t even said anything about her.”

“It’s not her.” I waved a hand in front of me. “It’s every woman. I bet all the women you’ve been with have been tall. Slender. Super model beautiful.”

“Yeah? And all of the guys you’ve been with have probably been fucking normal too.”

“I …” My mouth snapped shut.

“Exactly.” He pulled me into his side, wrapping his arm around my waist. “If you must know, you are the only woman I am fucking. Do I think she’s beautiful? No. Because I don’t go for women who attack my friends.”

  My heart gave a start.

“She could have killed Jay and that would have destroyed Angel. He’s my brother. He comes first and foremost. So, no, I don’t think she’s beautiful.”

“Okay.” I turned to him. “So, I’m the only woman you’re fucking, huh?”

He rolled his eyes, shaking his head. “You are too much.”

“You love it.” I pushed onto my knees and kissed his cheek. “Well, you, Mr. Porter, are the only man I am fucking.”

“I know.” He cupped my nape and placed a hard kiss on my mouth. “I’m the only who can make you scream like you did last night.”

I shivered. “You’re proud of yourself, aren’t you?”

“Fucking right I am.” His tongue slid between lips, sucking mine into his mouth. The kiss ended all too soon. “Who are you, little one?” he whispered, kissing my nose.

“I could ask you the same thing, Coby.” I turned around and leaned against him while he went back to work on his laptop.

Coby wrapped his arm around me, holding me tight against him and cupped my inner thigh. Always the thigh. I had come to know rather quickly that it was his favorite spot to touch whenever I sat near him. I wasn’t exactly sure why but it made me feel safe. Owned. Although these questions bounced around in my mind, I let them rest for the moment while we sat in a comfortable silence.

“Fuck me,” Coby growled a half an hour later. He continued searching through articles on his laptop, cursing every so often.

  “What?”

A phone rang suddenly, making me jump.

“Yeah,” Coby barked into his cell. “Shit. Hold on. I have someone with me who needs to hear this.” He placed the phone on the table and hit speaker. “Go ahead, my man.”

“All right,” a throat cleared. “I was doing some digging on this shit since the moment you asked me a couple days ago. This organization is tight. They have firewalls up on their systems like I’ve never seen before. And I’ve hacked into the government’s systems before.” The man on the other end chuckled.

  “Lucas,” Coby demanded. “Focus.”

“Fine. I’ll pat my own back then.”

  I raised an eyebrow.

Coby shook his head. “Lucas,” he repeated.

“Yeah, yeah.” The man, Lucas, cleared his throat again. “You’re lucky I love ya, my man. This cold is kicking my ass. Anyway, this woman is the sister to the front runner of the organization. She has a Daddy complex and the big brother takes care of her. If you get my drift.”

  “Um … gross,” I blurted.

“Yeah,” Lucas agreed. “I’m all for fucked up shit but that’s some serious fuckedupness right there. I also found that they have been running this organization together for years. They’ve recruited men from all over, trying to bring in as many females as possible. They’ve also started broadening their reach and are now going for boys.”

“Shit,” Coby muttered, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Do you have names?”

“Coby, Coby, Coby, what do you take me for? Some kind of chump?”

Coby pinched the bridge of his nose. “I’m not a patient man.”

“So damn testy.” Lucas coughed. “Tina and Zane Birch. But that’s all I’ve found.” Another cough. “I’ll keep digging but I need a couple days to gather their location and all of their assets. I don’t need these people on my ass. I’m trying to be a good little boy.”

Coby scoffed. “Right. Talk to you soon, Lucas.”

They said their good byes and Coby hung up the phone.

“Well, that was enlightening,” I mumbled.

  “I’d say.”

I sat up, stretching my arms above my head until a crack raced down my spine. “So, who was that?”

“Someone I met years ago. He’s a hacker and is quite known for his work.”

  “He hacked the government?”

“Yeah.” Coby chuckled, shaking his head. “He got away with it too. They couldn’t prove anything even though they know it was him.”

“I think I read about that in the paper. He’s kind of crazy.”

  “He is.” Coby winked.

A flutter raced through my heart. A wink. It was such a small movement, I wasn’t sure why it had this effect on me. Coby wasn’t your typical man. He was quiet. Withdrawn. Spoke when spoken to or when he had something to say. But get him in bed? And he had tons to say. His dirty words from the night before rushed into my mind causing a flush of heat to envelope my skin.

Coby looked down at my lips. “Are you thinking about me?”

  “Yes,” I answered automatically.

  “Good.”

A month had come and gone.

Vice-One had gone on another mission, only to bring back sour moods and piss-poor attitudes.

But something was wrong. The night they came home, Coby never showed up.

Angel greeted Jay with a hard kiss.

Asher grabbed Meeka, holding her tight against him.
br />   Dale and Stone grabbed themselves a beer each and gave Creena and I both hugs. I appreciated it. I was happy they were home safe but it wasn’t enough.

“Where’s Coby?” I asked, ringing my hands in my lap.

“He’s not here?” Dale looked at Stone who only shrugged.

I sighed, going back to cleaning the bar. If Coby didn’t want to come say hi and let me know that he was home safe, fine. Fuck him. It wasn’t like we had made our time together official. It was just sex. Hot, intense, delicious sex. But sex nevertheless.

I moved around the bar, slamming bottles and taking my frustration out on the items before me.

“What did those bottles ever do to you?” Angel asked, sliding onto a stool.

“Where is Coby?” I asked, not caring about the questions that would later come with my curiosity.

“He doesn’t handle missions well sometimes. So, when we get home, he usually goes off and works out or …”

“Has sex,” I finished for him.

  “Right.” Angel frowned.

I waited, holding my breath that he would ask me why I wanted to know where Coby was. But when he didn’t and left to go find Jay, I let out a deep breath.

It looked like I would just have to wait for Coby to come to me. And I was fine with that. It would be over my dying breath before I ever chased a man.

  ***

A soft click sounded throughout the silence of the night.

I jumped up in bed, finding Coby standing a few feet away. “Coby.”

  He didn’t say anything.

  “What’s wrong?”

He shook himself and pulled off his jacket followed by his boots.

“Where were you tonight?” I asked when he climbed into bed beside me.

Coby wrapped his arms around me, pulling me tight against his hard chest. His nose brushed up the length of my neck while he took several breaths. He inhaled deep, letting the air out in a soft sigh.

I pulled back. “Where were you?”

His eyes searched my face. “I was too fucked up to come see you.”

“What is that supposed to mean?”

He frowned. “Exactly what I just said.”

  “You could have come here.”

Coby moved to kiss me but I slapped my hand to his chest, stopping him. “I’m glad you’re okay but next time don’t make me wait.”

“Fine.” He grabbed my hand, kissed my palm, and gave it a soft nibble before covering my mouth with his.

Running my fingers through his hair, I deepened the kiss.

He groaned, his lower body instantly becoming hard for me. “This is what I came home to,” he whispered against my mouth.

“Coby …” I broke the kiss. “You can’t say things like that.”

“I know but it needed to be said.”

I sighed, pushing out of his hold, and sat up in bed.

“What is it?” he asked, grabbing my hand.

  “What are we doing?”

“Why do we need to put a label on it?”

“Because …” I chewed my bottom lip. God, I was being such a girl. “We don’t.”

“Good.” Coby pulled me into his arms. “Because I’m enjoying this. I don’t know what we’re doing. But I look forward to coming to you every night.” He pulled my head down to meet his mouth. “I enjoy spending every moment I can inside of you.”

“Why didn’t you come here earlier with the guys?” I asked, running my fingers through his hair.

“Because after a mission, I can get a little uneasy. It took everything in me not to come over here and fuck the shit out of you, but I didn’t want you to think I was using you.” He brushed a finger up and down my bare arm. “Sometimes I can’t control myself.”

“Was it a bad mission?” I mentally smacked myself. Of course it was bad.

“Well, it wasn’t a good one.” His jaw clenched. “Doing the shit I do takes me a little bit to get past.”

“You know you can always use me. I mean if you need me to help make you feel better.” I shrugged. “I’m here.”

“I was worried how you would feel,” his cheeks reddened. “Fuck. I sound like a woman.”

I laughed, kissing him softly on the mouth. “Stop being a pussy and worrying about how I feel. I’m a big girl, and if you haven’t figured it out by now, I’m not your average woman.”

He scoffed. “Oh, I figured that out. I don’t know many women who would tell their man exactly what they want in bed.”

“You think you’re mine, do you?” I teased, poking him in the ribs.

“You know it, baby,” he snarled into my neck, pushing me back on the bed.

I giggled, wrapping my arms around his shoulders.

“You just giggled.” He frowned. “You never giggle.”

  “Um …” My cheeks heated.

“Hmm …” His tongue licked up the side of my neck. “I love when you blush.”

  “I missed you,” I whispered.

“And I’m going to spend the rest of the night showing you how much I missed you.” And he did.

  ***

A soft knock sounded on my door.

A warm body shifted beside me.

It was the first night Coby had spent the full night with me, allowing me to wake up next to him in the morning.

I kissed his cheek, threw on his t-shirt, and trudged to the door. “Hey,” I greeted Creena. “What’s up?”

  “Your brothers are here.”

“What?” My eyes widened. “All of them?”

She nodded, glancing over my head at the bundle in my bed.

“Okay, give me five.” I shut the door, pulled off Coby’s shirt and quickly got dressed. “Coby,” I said, kicking the bed.

“It’s too damn early,” he grumbled, stretching his thick arms beneath his pillow.

“I agree but you have to get up.” This was not good. Not good at fucking all.

“What’s wrong?” He sat up, scrubbing a hand up and down his face.

“Nothing,” I threw his pants at him. “Nothing at all.”

“Then why are you kicking me out of your bed?” He slowly pulled his pants on. Much too slow for my liking.

I huffed. “Can you move any slower? Please, Coby. Get the fuck out of my bed.”

“What gives, Brogan?” he stood from the bed, leaving the fly of his jeans undone.

My mouth watered at the sight. That delicious V dipped between his legs, sliding beneath his pants.

“Brogan, stop staring at my dick or I’m going to fuck you with it.”

My eyes shot up to his. “My brothers are here.”

  “And …”

“I can’t explain it right now. I just need you to leave.” A heavy bang sounded on the door, jarring through my body. “Shit.”

“Sis, why the fuck are you sleeping so long?” The door shoved open, revealing one of the twins. “We tried calling you.” Brox frowned, his gaze passing between Coby and me. “Does Greyson know he’s in here?”

“Greyson,” Coby repeated. “Why the hell would he care?”

“No reason,” I said quickly, shoving Brox back. “I’ll be out in a sec.”

Brox leaned his head down, his gaze searching my face. “You’re in for it, you know that, right, Brogie?”

I sighed, my heart stuttering at the childhood nickname my brothers had given me. “Whatever. Leave.”

“Brogan.” Coby came up behind me. “Why the fuck would Greyson care if I’m here? He’s your stepbrother. Right?”

  Shit. Shit. Shit.

“Yes.” I turned around, pulled open the door and ran out into the hallway.

Coby followed me but thankfully, he kept his mouth shut.

“There’s our sister,” Blake came toward me and pulled me into a hug. “I heard there was a man in your room.”

“Seriously?” I glared at Brox. “Already?”

Blake laughed. “We’re twins, Brogie. Remember?” His deep blue eyes twinkled. “He doesn’t need to tell me
shit and I still know what he’s thinking.”

Brox clapped a hand on Blake’s shoulder. “Yeah, well someone has to look out for our sister.”

I shook my head. “I’m fine,” I reiterated to both of them. It was funny seeing them together. They were identical twins; the only difference being was their eye color and Brox’s hair was a little darker. But at a quick glance, you wouldn’t be able to tell them apart.

“Are you two shitheads giving our sister a hard time?” Benny, the oldest, slowly stalked toward me. He nursed his left leg, walking with a slight limp.

“How’s the leg?” I asked, wrapping my arms around his hard waist.

“Still missing and still hurts like shit,” he tapped the top of his artificial knee. “Solid as a rock, though.”

“I’m glad.” I kept my arms around him for longer than normal. I had missed him. All of them. But Benny the most. He had joined the military at a young age and got medically discharged when an accident almost left him for dead. After losing his leg from the top of the knee down, he swore to take it easy and settle down. The settling down thing hadn’t happened yet.

“Hey …” He pulled back, looking at me intently. “What’s up?”

“Nothing.” I pasted a smile on my face for added reassurance. “Just missed you guys.”

“Are you sure?” He pinched my chin, moving my head back and forth like he could see whatever issue he thought I was having all over my face.

“I’m fine.” I stepped out of his embrace. The hairs on the back of my neck stood on end, giving me that familiar warm feeling coursing through my body. I turned around, finding Coby standing a few feet away with his thick arms crossed under his broad chest. Clearing my throat, I took a breath. “Coby, these are my brothers. Brox, Blake, and Benny,” I said, pointing at each of them. They greeted each other politely with handshakes and man grunts.

Benny sized him up. Being the oldest, he always did the protecting, making sure all of us were safe and stayed out of trouble. But that didn’t always work.

“Where’s my favorite girl?” Greyson’s voice boomed from the doorway.

My stomach tumbled, my heart picking up speed.

Greyson sidestepped around Benny, glanced at Coby, and came toward me. A wicked grin spread on his face before he pulled me into a hard hug.
