He glanced at the rest of Larry’s sons and wondered what would become of them. Cade Redstone had been particularly quiet this evening. He’d joined in the celebration, but hadn’t said much, and as Garrett spotted him now, he was seated by himself, his thoughts turned inward.
Garrett sighed. “We can only hope that all of the boys end up as happy as Trent is tonight. I think he might even try to make amends with Blake, you know. Gives his brother the credit for saving the baby’s life.”
Garrett looked up to the stars. “I sure do miss you, Laura,” he admitted, and felt the old familiar tug on his heart, “but then, I know you’re watching down on us here.” His eyes sparkled. “I wouldn’t put it past you to have set this whole scene up yourself. You were always the matchmaker.”
Again he looked at the bride and groom. “Well, darlin’, this time you couldn’t have done better if you’d tried.”
