Shep Crawford walked up the stairs of his porch and, opening the screen door, turned back to Aaron and winked before disappearing inside.

The writing of this book presented many challenges and caused me a lot of long and late nights! But the end result could not have been achieved without the help of my ever loyal technical advisor, Ron Wheatley, whom I thank from the bottom of my heart for your never ending charisma and enthusiasm for my projects.

I’d also like to thank Bill Engleking for a lot of good feedback, and Terry Phelps for your meticulous and thorough read- through. Also, much thanks to Dave Schill, Steve Blake, and Andrea Wood for research help.

Thanks also to Don Gutteridge, my father-in-law and brilliant attorney, who helped with much of the technical advice on the book.

Many thanks to my editor, Lorie Popp, who patiently worked with me through the trials and tribulations of this novel. And thanks also to Jan and Becky and the always supportive Tyndale team.

Special thanks to my prayer team, whose prayers sustained me, and to my agent, Janet Kobobel Grant, whose calm and encouraging voice on the other end of the phone kept me afloat on more than one occasion.

My husband, Sean, sacrificed many hours in order for me to write this book . . . more hours than a husband should have to. Thank you so much for working so hard to help me.

And thank You, Lord, for another chance to get to do what I love. To God be the glory!
