About the Author
Joshua Ferris was born in 1974 in Danville, Illinois. His first novel, Then We Came to the End, was published in 2007 to wide acclaim. Translated into more than thirty languages, it won the PEN/Hemingway Award and the Barnes and Noble Discover Award and was shortlisted for the National Book Award. His second novel, The Unnamed, was published in 2011. In 2014, his third novel, To Rise Again at a Decent Hour, was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize and won the biannual International Dylan Thomas Prize. Ferris was named by The New Yorker one of the best “20 Under 40” writers in 2010. He lives in Hudson, New York, with his wife and son.
