“Well, at least we will save on period products.” McKayla shrugged.

“Yes, we get to deal with your hormones all the time instead of once a week.” Gwen laughed when McKayla elbowed her.

“Speaking of periods, when is yours due. It always ruins a whole week of fun.” McKayla wiggled her eyebrows at Gwen. “I can’t remember the last time you had one.”

“I don’t know. I don’t track that stuff. It just shows up when it shows up.” Gwen shrugged. “Really it doesn’t matter, leave me and my period alone.”

“Nope. Let’s go.” McKayla stood and held a hand out for Gwen.

“Go where? I’m pretty comfortable right where I am, thank you.” Gwen looked up at her. Finally she sighed and took McKayla’s insistent hand.

“We will be right back.” McKayla called out as she pulled Gwen to the cottage. She pulled Gwen right into the bathroom and shut the door.

“What are you doing?” Gwen laughed as McKayla bent and opened the cabinets under the sink.

“Ah ha. I knew there was one more.” McKayla said before standing and holding a stick out to Gwen.

“What is this?” Gwen took it and looked at it. It was a pregnancy test. “No.”

“Yes. Just do it. Then we will know. I know, I know. Slim chance and blah blah.” McKayla smiled. “Just do it. It’ll be negative, right? Just do it so then we know it’s just a missing period or whatever.”

“Ugh. Fine. Just leave me alone about it after this.” Gwen dropped to sit on the toilet. She peed on the stick, put the little cover over the used end and put it on the counter. “I’m going to get ready to go out to dinner.”

Gwen pushed past McKayla with a shake of her head before going to the bedroom they all used while at the cottage. She pulled out a dress from the closet.

“Gwen.” McKayla spoke from the door. “Congratulations, baby. We are gonna be pregnant together!”

“What?” Gwen stopped and turned to face McKayla, who was holding out the pregnancy test. She looked at the cute little plus sign in the window. “This is the one you peed on or something. That’s not funny, McKayla.”

“I’m dead freaking serious.” McKayla cupped Gwen’s face in her hands and kissed her. “You are pregnant.”

“Where are my lovely ladies?” Cole’s voice rang out. Gwen quickly stuffed the test into her back pocket.

“We are getting our stuff ready so we can start dolling up to take our men out for dinner.” McKayla yelled back.

“Excellent.” Cole smiled as he walked into the room. Cameron was sleeping on his shoulder. “Guess I wore this guy out.”

“Here. Let me go put him down.” McKayla took him from Cole and walked down the hall to put him down in the other room.

“Everything okay? You look a little pale.” Cole pulled Gwen into his arms and looked down at her face.

“Yeah. I’m okay. I have news.” Gwen knew she should wait and tell him some special way but she couldn’t keep it a secret. “It’s in my pocket.”

“What is it?” Cole smiled and patted her front pockets then her back before pulling the pregnancy test out. “A pregnancy test?”

“Yes. McKayla made me take one.” Gwen bit on her bottom lip. “Looks like I’m pregnant.”

“Really?” Cole picked her up and swung her in a circle.

“I am too.” McKayla spoke from the door with a broad smile on her face. “Guess Gwen ruined the surprise already.”

“What?” Cole’s eyes widened. “You are BOTH pregnant?”

“Yep.” Both Gwen and McKayla said at the same time, smiling at each other.

“Wow. We are gonna be busy.” Cole laughed and ran a hand through his hair. “I hope I have hair left after enduring a dual pregnancy.”

“You’ll be great. Plus, you are a wonderful husband and daddy.” Gwen kissed his lips before opening her arms and welcoming McKayla into their hug. “Our wonderful little family.”
