  GLOSSARY

  These are the poker terms used in this book. For more information and a fuller list, please consult other sources.

  ace-king unsuited: When an ace and a king are in a player’s face-down cards and the cards are of different suits

  big slick: When an ace and a king are in a player’s face-down cards and the cards are of the same suit

  blinds: In Texas Hold ’em, the “forced” bets that are made by the first two players in a hand before the cards are dealt

  bullets: Slang for aces

  community cards: The five cards dealt face up and placed in the center of the table, which are left in place and can be used by any player

  fish: A new or weak poker player; an easy mark

  flop: The first three community cards, which are dealt (flopped) all at once

  nut hand: The winning hand

  river: The fifth of five community cards and the last card of the hand

  ten-jack: When the two face-down cards dealt to a player are a ten and a jack (any suit)

  turn: The fourth of five community cards
