This addition of grim historical fact may be a bit jarring in the imaginary world about which I write my lighthearted stories, but I can't regret it. It occurs to me that one of the most useful things to do with our imaginations, after having fun, is to imagine how we might deal with the bleak side of reality, which is never too far away.
