CHAPTER 12
“It’s okay Maria... I can shop by myself and I'm fine please don't worry about me just take care of your sister and said hi to her from me” Kate said as she call Maria to ask about her sister's health. Maria was out of the city to see her sister.
Kate was in the city out of her town. She wants to do something special for Jake he's coming in two days.
She took the grocery and decoration thing to decorate his room. After she shopped, she put everything in car and drives back to town.
She was waiting for green signal as traffic goes at her left, she check her cell phone then at front she got shocked, her eyes wide open.
It was Jake on heavy bike with some girl. She gets in her sense when she heard horn from her back she move and drive on the same route to follow Jake.
She’s thinking “how that can be happening... Jake... in city but he told me that he's going out of city to play...who's that girl? Whose bike he's riding…since when he know how to drive heavy bike” as she follow Jake she get more surprised when she see where is he going.
It was down town city there were many clubs and so much lighting she never came in that place. She didn't even know that it exists.
Jake stop on a big building it was more than just a club. It was one of the most famous night club, people standing properly in line to go in. The guard who is standing at the door, not letting everyone to go inside.
It was a high profile night club for popular and wealthy people. Kate get out of car seeing Jake go in to that place with that girl. The guard makes way for him like he's a regular costumer.
Kate was so shocked to see that, she get in her sense to follow him but guard stop her she insist him but he said
“You have to wait in line to go inside”. She got angry she can't wait that long so find the back door and disguise her as cook then make her way to the club.
The music was so loud everyone is dancing on the floor. She go upstairs where everyone looks very rich, branded clothes ,expensive wine then she saw some people doing drug, cocaine was spread on their table.
One corner there was a room, it have glass walls. She saw Jake in there with so many, girl were around them they laughing.
Kate run to him as she goes near to door men stop her who's guarding the room. “I'm here to meet Jake Drew” Kate said.
“Sorry ma'am we are not allowed to let visitors in” one guard says. Kate was so angry she run try to hit on gate but the guard got her.
Jake saw her then call them to stop, Kate’s eyes were full of tears they were falling on her cheek when she saw Jake. Jake stands up and his face turn pale like he saw a ghost.
Kate moves toward Jake, she was staring him. His was heart pounding so fast. He can't believe that Kate find him in this place.
It was so lavish and big room. It have separate bar and light music was playing Jake was sitting with a girl. Jake gets in his sense then he introduced Kate to the girl
“Ki... its Emma, Emma m... my best Fri... Friend the one I to...told you about” Jake said his voice shaking. Kate look at her, her black hair was tie on backside. She looks at Kate with her shiny blue eyes. She was wearing black shinning top and jeans and black heel, her looks shows that she’s an actress. She smile as Jake introduced her, Kate can feel that she’s nervous as she rubbing her hands. Kate looked her top to bottom then again stare Jake.
“I'm leaving this place... and I think you should too” Kate said Jake down his head before she turn someone says
“C'mon have a drink with us” she turns to see whose saying. It was Zac black curly hair blue eyes and big smile, he seems in his mid-20s and he's not that tall. His attitude shows, that he knows about Kate.
“Uh... you must be Ki... Jake told us about you, wow you are so beautiful, I'm Zac Jake's friend... nice too meet you” Zac said move his hand toward her to shake.
Kate saw Jake he's feeling relax that make her angrier
“It’s Katherine for you... and I don't like your place and company, I can only be friend with the people who have good company and respect” Kate said folding her arm. Jake look at Zac he take his hand back so Jake defend him saying
“Ki... its Zac he's my fellow team member”.
“let's go Jake” Kate said she hold his hand and move but then stop and turn to Zac and said “if you ever tried to contact him again ,you'll regret it for sure , I don’t know why Jake like your company but as long as I am with him he’s not coming back here... Ever” Kate saw Emma then leave.
Zac smile when Emma asked him “what's now? She’ll never leave him”.
They were in the car in town. Jake can feel Kate is so angry on him because she's driving so fast but Kate was thinking about Emma
“man... she was so pretty, her styles just look like some action movie heroine...and clothes were branded that blouse look so expensive but it was so pretty and her high heels were so shiny... If Jake didn’t meet her like this, I accept her but the way she was... I don’t like that kind of girl in Jake life. That guy he look so attractive, his jacket, his shoes, all look so expansive...like he a pop star ,is he...I will Google him if I know his full name and Jake won’t tell me even if ask ... who are they? How did they get to Jake? He won't tell me if I ask. If he wants to tell me, he’ll tell me before but no!!!”
Jake put all his strength together then said
“Ki... I'm sorry I was goi...”
“Shut up Jake please no more lies. I can never believe that my best friend lie to me because of some people who just came in his life ...you just break my heart Jake...” Kate said her voice getting heavy like she's going to cry.
“Do you even know about them, they are not good company to keep Jake... what were you thinking I saw that man with gun I mean he's scarier than his gun and that girl did you see what she's wearing!! Man... These kind of girl don't want a boyfriend, they want boyfriends” Kate continue
“Marco is not scary he's very friendly ...he's Zac guard” Jake said try to explain but Kate shout suddenly.
“GUARD?? And you know his name too ...what he is superstar or something ... Jake what is up with you” Kate said she get annoyed when she feel that Jake like their company. She thought Jake will tell his name.
“Ki... you'll like them too, I didn't tell you about them because I know you won't let me meet them and shout like this... give them a chance Zac is so cool and Emma...” Jake stop as Kate stare him with eyes wide.
“Jake they can’t be our friends OK... People like them end up by doing something bad in life or they have guilt in their heart which doesn’t let them have peace... Do you want to end up like them” Kate said.
“Not everything in movies is true Ki .... They are not that bad and they are my friends” Jake said try to defend them.
“Bad ... They make you liar ... Deceiver... what do you want more to believe they are not good ....Which make them bad... Right!! And movies are based on real life experience Jake, so don’t pretend you don’t know and if they are your friend now, then who am I?” Kate said.
Kate stops the car at Jake's home. Her eyes full with tears her voice get heavy when she said
“Jake please ... I really love you, you are my only friend and not just friend you are my family too. I don't want you to lose please. Promise me you won't talk to them again... please Jake. Be friend with someone else there are so many basketball clubs in this city but please Jake I really don’t like that guy and the way you are involving in his company please Jake promise me” they are standing out of the car ,she hold Jake's hand tightly.
She know Jake can't see her crying
“Please Jake and if you will contact them again I’m going to hurt myself and you'd be responsible for that because I can’t see my best friend having any regret in his life. I can’t see you in any trouble and they are trouble Jake I can feel it... Please trust me” Kate said.
She don't want him to talk to that guy again she can feel that Zac is no ordinary person and if Jake got in bed compan
y her reputation around the town will damage and she’d lose her only friend.
“I promise Ki... I won't talk to him again please stop crying okay” Jake said trying to calm her down. He never wants to see Kate crying.
“Thanks Jake you know I never said it if it's not worth it...you knows I love you right...” Kate said as she hugs him.
“Yeah... I know! I love you too” Jake said, he was not happy but he can't hurt Kate any more so he put a smile on his face.
